Our "St. Practice" Day!

Happy Monday, party people!

How was your weekend? I hope you had beautiful weather, like we did. I can't begin to tell you how awesome it was to spend the majority of the weekend outside with the sun shining bright and for the most part - coatless. Saturday and Sunday were probably my two favorite days I've had in a long time. Have you heard of anyone not having fun while celebrating an early St. Patricks Day? I haven't. I don't truly believe it's possible...friends, an excuse to day drink (do I sound like a lush?), listen to bagpipers, wear cute clothes/accesories, laugh until you cry? Yeah, not possible.

Our annual {pre} St. Patrick's Day in Dublin on Saturday was, not surprisingly, a heck of a good time. My girlfriend, Jen, had us over around 10 am for a "kegs and eggs" type of get together, but instead it was complete with: green jello shots, green cake balls, green cupcakes, and an egg casserole (that wasn't green). Oh, and Flogging Molly was playing loudly on Pandora on my phone.

a big tacky green bow called my name.

After the pre festivities at our girlfriends house, we headed to downtown Dublin to catch the tail end of the parade and to start the bar hopping. If you are from Columbus and have never celebrated in Dublin, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Dublin Tavern and Brazenhead. Those are our 2 typical spots and they don't disappoint. When we went to Brazenhead, we made it just in time to hear all the bagpipers play. For some reason, I just love hearing them play and seeing them dressed up. Take me to Ireland, please?

After many hours of celebrating and starting to get tired, Billy treated me and my girls to 2 large pizzas, wings, and breadsticks for a late lunch/early dinner. He is a good man and knows the way to our hearts... ;) It was so nice to be able to spend the entire day with friends, some that I hadn't seen in many many months.

Now, I'm just ready for Round 2.. meaning actual St. Patricks Day, this Saturday! One day of celebration is not enough for this fabulous holiday. Time to find a new outfit and to celebrate again with friends.. :)

Sunday was gorgeous here. About an hour after we woke up, we spent most of the day outside, and I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend it. We took Rocky to the dogpark where he continuously thinks he is the King there, and all the dogs should "bow" down to him. See what I mean?

"King Rocky", in all his glory...

He cracks us up everytime. He likes other dogs and gets along with them, but it's like he expects them to follow him around. Lil' brat ;) After the dog park, we headed off to the Glacier Ridge Metropark area for a little walk before I started my 6 mile run. Up until this point, I hadn't done a long run at Glacier Ridge before, but I LOVED it. It was so so nice and I will be going back there hopefully this Sunday if it's nice. I highly recommend it for any of you Columbus runners!

The day ended with me basking in the sun in my favorite lounge chair reading Catching Fire and then a nap on the couch with all our windows and doors open. Is there anything better than an afternoon nap with a nice breeze coming in? I think not.

It's the little things that make me over the top - happy and content.

How did you spend your weekend?

What little things do you find happiness in?

*Also, I'm featured over at one of my best girlfriend Holly's blog today for my Pinterest inspired outfit (what she calls MiMO)...stop on over there to see it!

  18. FUN! That sounds like a blast and you ladies look super cute!

I get SO mad because LA celebrates every holiday with parades except St. Patrick's Day. That's not OK. Discrimination I say lol!

  22. your pre-st.-pats looks like so much fun!! mine was a throwback to college. i saw WAAAY too many panty flashes and people headfirst in garbage cans. Apparently self control and moderation are two things us Atlanta people struggle with ;)
