4TH OF JULY // LIFE LATELY!

Hi friends!! How was your 4th?! I hope you all had a safe and fun holiday!

I wanted to share a few pictures of ours, and some others from the past few weeks. The heat has been crazy here the past few days and we practically melted at the 4th of July parade in Dublin that we took the boys to, but it was worth it to see them have fun and enjoy it! That's what our job is as parents, right? ha! We got smarter as the day went on and just spent it at the pool and had a yummy dinner at home!

And just some other summer fun we've been having...

Planning this almost 2 year old (WAHHH) dinosaur birthday party which is only a few weeks away!

Billy has been loving showing the boys how to fish in our backyard! Grayson is OBSESSED with touching them and Cam just thought it was cool he caught one..

The boys with some of their favorite people...PawPaw!
 ...and JuJu!
We had a day date to a winery with some friends last weekend and out to dinner!

Billy's brother and his wife are due in just a few short weeks now too so we absolutely cannot wait to meet our newphew and for the boys to meet their new cousin!!!!

But as for today, everyone in our family except myself (knock on wood) is now sick in some way, but I'm trying to stay positive that it's just a cold (except with Grayson he has a little tummy bug happening) and we will all be better soon! We have been so lucky because the boys haven't been sick in SUCH  a long time....this past winter they didn't get sick once, so it's definitely been a blessing having a break from it all.

This week has flown by with the holiday being right in the middle! I do have some fun posts planned already for next week (I KNOW...WHO AM I?) so I'm really excited to get back into blogging more! I miss this space and love connecting with you all so much.

Have a good weekend!

Life Lately

Happy Wednesday!

Soo much has been going on lately...it's definitely time for a new life update post. Did anyone buy the Revlon hair dryer from my last post? If so, let me know how you're liking it in the comments!

Camden started SOCCER! He has been loving it and seems to improve (with following the directions and doing the drills) and like it more each week. I started playing soccer when I was his age up and into high school, so this makes me really happy naturally.

Fathers Day: We spent the weekend at the lake! We were actually supposed to go 2 weeks ago but the weather wasn't great and it was all Billy requested for Fathers Day (boating and being there is his fav), so we decided to spend the weekend there at the last minute on Friday. The boys had the best time ever - they love riding on the boat and playing at the beach. Totally passed right out at nap times and enjoyed staying up past their bedtimes, too.

Also, we were supposed to be going to Michigan this upcoming weekend for a family trip with my stepmoms family, but Billy hasn't been able to take him off work lately which means that unfortunately we aren't going anymore. Looking forward to celebrating Fathers Day with my Dad when they get back! He is just the best dad and grandpa ever and we are so thankful for him.

We got a membership to the country club in our neighborhood so that we can take the boys to the pool this summer. They also have an awesome adult only side with a swim up bar that we've yet to be able to enjoy...BUT one day, right? ;) The boys are really into swimming right now (Grayson more like just leisurely floating on a raft which is more my style too) and Cam insists on going down the slide and jumping off the side of the pool no less than 50 times per visit, so I'd say it's going well. It's so convenient that it's right down the street - makes it a little easier on us!

We've also had some pretty fun days at the zoo and the parks by us...summer is just too much fun (and a little exhausting at times too) with them...

Grayson also gave himself AND myself a black eye last week, haha. I was actually telling people that I'm surprised I've gone 3.5 years without one yet! He dropped a toy on his face (for his) and then the next day was laying down on me and flung the back of his head straight into my eye! Even with all the concealer, it's still been hard to cover. Thanks big guy!

(pic of his black eye is much cuter than mine-you can kinda see it in this pic!)

Lastly...Isagenix came out with a new seasonal shake yesterday: RASPBERRY CHEESECAKE! It's a full meal replacement just like our other flavors and has 24g of protein, 23 vitamins and minerals, gluten and soy free, and no article anything. If you'd like to order some and try it-email me or message me on instagram or shoot me a comment!

Hope you have a great day!

Weekend Recap

If an anniversary celebration, a family trip the zoo, our youngest only waking up ONCE in the middle of the night, and 78 degree weather doesn't make for a good weekend then I don't know what does.

That was our weekend in a nutshell. Good things ALL around!

On Friday my stepmom and I took the boys to the zoo, where Camden got to go on his first pony ride! I was a little nervous because they didn't have an option to really buckle him in or anything, but after explaining to him how to hold on tight with both hands (and I stood right next to him the whole time) he impressed me by holding on the entire time - he did so well and he had the most excited look on his face the whole ride! totally made my day.

Grayson must've not been too impressed by the animals because he snoozed the whole time. :)

soaking up some cuddles after the zoo (a little over 3 weeks old here!)

Like I mentioned on Friday, we went out to dinner to celebrate our SIX year wedding anniversary on Saturday and my parents babysat the kids. It felt good to get dressed up like a normal person and to forget about changing diapers for a few hours. Billy got me a David Yurman ring that I had been lusting after, and after chowing down on one of our favorite meals (filet for me, a half roasted chicken for him) we somehow ended up at Target buying diapers. Because clearly escaping diapers completely wasn't in the cards... ;) Hey, at least we could laugh about it!

And to top it off...Grayson decided to give us an awesome anniversary gift by only waking up once in the middle of the night (!!!)

Sunday was spent outdoors pretty much all day (went to a new park!) because we had the most beautiful weather ever. Not a cloud in the sky and not too hot!

I know of a few boys that were loving it too...

Oh, and not pictured but equally as important and awesome...Billy watched the baby on Friday night (Cam was already in bed!) so I could meet up with a girlfriend for drinks. We sat outside and enjoyed a few glasses of wine, which made me realize I'm just not ready to see summer go. At all. Nope, not yet. Anyone else?

How was your weekend?

Life Updates

Well well well...where to begin? I guess the first thing to fill you in on is that I'm definitely still pregnant, and we're just waiting on pins and needles for baby boy to make his debut! I have been walking seriously nonstop the past week hoping that might get things rolling, but no such luck! He's pretty content it appears and hey, that's okay! (ask me how I feel about this come late next week...)

Anyway, I know a post about this past weekend is really delayed at this point but I do want to blog about it! It was just one of those good for the soul weekends. We were able to have one last date night so we ventured to the Short North for happy hour and dinner at Bakersfield. My only request was a nonalcoholic margarita and to sit on a patio and since Bakersfield had both (and chips and quesa which is Billy's fav), it was a no brainer that is where we ended up! We walked down to a chocolate shop afterwards and splurged on a chocolate mousse cake for dessert.

I also managed to sneak away to get my hair done and decided to get some balayage highlights.  It's hard to tell because this pic came out really blurry, but here's a look! I'm really loving how it turned out!

The rest of the weekend was filled with a family coffee date in German Village and taking Camden to his favorite spots to play, including a visit to the zoo. Cam is really enjoying the zoo these days (he is in love with the petting zoo-he literally runs up to each goat and sheep to brush their hair), so it's always fun to go as a family and see the excitement in his eyes.

Now to explain what else has been going on the past few days. It's been a little crazy, and I'm not talking about Amazon's Prime Day (which I ended up scoring nothing..hashtag what a bummer!)

Throughout all of last week Camden had a little cough on and off, but it wasn't anything that sounded too serious and he was acting completely fine. On Sunday, though, I noticed that it was getting worse and he would have a few coughing spells where he would cough up to a minute or longer, and seemed to be struggling a bit more, so I decided to take him into the pediatrician Monday morning. I was fully convinced prior to the appointment that he had whooping cough (even though he's been vaccinated) and was semi freaking out. The doctor did end up wanting to test for it and it came back negative for whooping cough, but positive for a different type of bacterial illness that can cause pneumonia. He is now on a 5 day antibiotic and seems to be on the mend. This entire time (even at the doctors!) he has been such a little trooper and his normal happy self, so you wouldn't know he was even sick.

We are so happy we brought him in to the doctor when we did, and that it didn't happen in say a week from now, so that he's able to get better before his baby brother arrives.

On top of all that...yesterday I received heartbreaking news from my mom's side of the family. My Mom's sister, my Aunt Chris, went in for a routine procedure and ended up having a major stroke and blood clots/swelling in her brain. They had to do emergency brain surgery and weren't sure if she was going make it. By the grace of God, she did make it through the surgery but a lot of damage was done in her brain so they are pretty much taking it day by day, minute by minute. This is obviously devastating to my family, so if you would be so kind to please keep her + my family in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated. She has a long journey ahead of her, but they are remaining hopeful and trying to stay positive which is the best thing you can do in situations like this.

So, that would be why I've been a little MIA the past few days. Like I said last week, I DO plan to continue blogging up until the baby comes + already have some posts lined up (hello! my picks for the huge Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that starts next week, if you have a Nordstrom card you can shop it today), just maybe just not as much as I normally would so please bear with me! I'm sorry for not having a more consistent schedule around here. For more updates + baby news (when the time comes!), you can follow me on instagram or on snapchat (katiewkrysh.)

Happy Thursday!

Scenes From The Cottage

What do you get when you combine a lake, perfect weather, 2 boats, and nothing to do but to sit back and enjoy it all? One fantastic summer weekend, of course.

Couldn't have had a better time with Billy's family in Port Clinton this weekend! I'm a little sad to get back into the weekly routine of things. Camden loved "driving" the golf cart, throwing rocks into the water (I think he could have done this for hours), playing at the beach area, and ran around on the boat like he was the captain. I'm sure if he could speak in sentences he would be asking to go back next weekend! Billy's parents just bought a 2nd boat so this was our first time on it, and of course it was so nice. It's smaller than the other boat so it was easier for Camden to walk around, when we were going slow. And the front of it has lots of seating where I plopped down, kicked my legs up, and didn't move most of the way.

I freaking love you, lake life. A LOT of proof below...

"hey, you guys going to get on this thing with me or not?!"

(don't worry-this is just grape juice..aka nonalcholic wine)

(Rocky wasn't left out of the fun at all-he was a happy camper who got lots and lots of walks by the water!)

That sunset though...major heart eyes.

I'm really thankful that our kids have such an awesome place to experience summer weekends, and am already looking forward to the next time we can bring BOTH of our boys!! When we left yesterday we just kept saying how next time baby brother will be with us, too. Can't believe we're so close to becoming a five (Rocky included) person family now! Still just a tad bit crazy to think about.

Have you visited the Port Clinton area before? What did you guys do this weekend?
