38 Weeks / Leighton’s Nursery

Wow you guys! How has it been this long since I've posted an update? I guess all of you that told me this is just how it goes with the third baby were right, huh? ๐Ÿ˜‚ It's hard to believe, but we are just 8 days away from welcoming Leighton into our family, so it's time I get this last bump date up and share pictures of her nursery, even if it's just so that we have for our own personal memories and records.

Third trimester thoughts....

Sleep is minimal (mainly from not ever being able to get comfortable) and my heartburn is at an all time high.

As for my emotions, those have been very high as well haha. I've definitely been feeling ALL the feels lately and have been really emotional, but I know that this is normal. The boys are acting very excited for her to arrive...Camden told me yesterday, "Leighton is going to come out soon and when she does-she's going to rip your shirt!" ha. Grayson has also been pretty emotional lately and pushing boundaries a bit-I've had some hard talks with him (that have ended with me in tears just because I want him to feel so loved!) due to the fact that he's definitely feeling that change is coming, and that he will no longer be the baby. Before bed, though, he tells me all the people in our family that he loves and he always says "I love baby Leighton!"

Discovered how painful lightning crotch can be this trimester (I never had it with the boys)

I just got put on a 5 day steroid in hopes that this will raise my platelet count so that I'm able to receive a spinal/epidural during delivery. Crossing my fingers that it works!

Baby girl is still super active in there and her movements/kicks HURT sometimes!

How far along: 38 Weeks (in 1 day)
Size: A honeydew melon ๐Ÿ˜€
Name Situation: Leighton Jane
Gender: Girl
Sickness: NONE...so thankful that this ended awhile ago!
Cravings: Anything cold and fresh - my shakes, salads, ice cream too!
Aversions: No real aversions but my appetite towards the end of this pregnancy has been so low
Nursery: I posted a few pictures below sharing her nursery, we are so happy with how it turned out. I love the flower decals on the main wall behind her crib (bought them off Amazon) and the gold details. I wanted it to be light and airy and girly without being "too much" :)
Heartbeat: 150 at my appointment this week
What I'm Wearing: Stretchy shorts and leggings are pretty much the only pants that fit! With summer ending and some cooler temps, it’s been a little bit more difficult to dress the bump or find things that work for this season (compared to summer when you can just wear maxi dresses everyday!)
Movement: She is SO active everyday that now her kicks have started to hurt! She’s busiest at night when I’m relaxing before bed. She also kicks every night when I read the boys books at their bedtime :)
Sleep: Tossing and turning all night pretty much and getting up 1-2 times to go to the bathroom
Weight gain: I've gained about 30 lbs with her so far which is similar to what I gained with Grayson
Workouts: HA - Chasing the boys has been exhausting enough, but I have tried the past few weeks to at least get some walks outside or on the treadmill in.
What we're most excited about: Meeting our daughter for the first time, seeing what she looks like, and introducing her to the boys... ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

Sources: Rug - All Modern, Chandelier - World Market, Dresser (switched out the knobs to these brass ones) - Wayfair, Crib (old) - Delta Baby, Wallpaper decals - Amazon, Gold Shelf - Marshalls, Wooden Sign - Hobby Lobby, Letter hooks - Hobby Lobby!

16 WEEKS!

Second trimester thoughts....

It feels so good to have my energy back and no more food aversions๐Ÿ™Œ They don't call it the 2nd *tri-high* for nothing!

Lots of round ligament pain lately

How far along: 16 weeks
Size: An avocado ๐Ÿ˜€
Name Situation: We think we have one for her, and will share it soon!
Gender: Girl
Sickness: NONE...so thankful!
Cravings: Let's just say I had a hard time avoiding all the Easter candy, oh man, so guilty and overindulged a little too much. Basically craving all things that aren't so healthy with the exception of fruit and my Isa shakes that seriously SAVE me on the daily! :)
Aversions: None really anymore
Nursery: Her room is officially a room and not a loft anymore! Last weekend they put up the drywall and door, so now we just need to have the wall touched up and painted! Camden goes in her room frequently and always says "dear baby we love you so much, your room is so beautiful!" Bless his heart! I never want to forget his cute remarks like that.
Heartbeat: 147 at my appointment this week
What I'm Wearing: The pants are getting tighter so I'm really looking forward to being able to wear drawstring shorts and maxi dresses ALL summer!
Bellybutton: Getting closer to becoming an outtie!
Movement: Little flutters but they are still inconsistent as of now, waiting impatiently to feel her kick :)
Sleep: I've been having some pregnancy insomnia lately which is no fun at all. I go to sleep easily but if I wake up in the middle of the night it is really hard for me to get back to sleep. I've been eating a snack at night with protein in it and that has seemed to help!
Weight gain: 7-8 lbs
Workouts: I've been trying to walk or run outside more since it's warmer out!
What we're most excited about: Getting her room decorated, seeing her on a 3d ultrasound (hopefully) soon, and being able to feel her kick!

13 WEEKS!

(this is the best dress for pregnancy, I’m wearing the long sleeve version but I also bought the sleeveless in one size up to wear during the summer!)

First trimester thoughts....

I finally got to experience a "real" first trimester because I had it way too good with my previous pregnancies

So fun to be able to share the news with the boys

Exhaustion hit me like a ton of bricks everyday, I couldn't make it through without napping. B6 seemed to help with morning sickness!

I've had two ultrasounds so far (pictures below) and I semi forgot how amazing and special they really are

It's been harder to give up alcohol this time around, probably because a. I had the boys back to back and this time I got a longer break so I was used to having my glass of wine or white claw and b. I have two toddlers running around this time and some days are a real doozy! ;)

Bump popped out much earlier this time, around 9-10 weeks

I did feel a little more anxious/worrisome this time around in the beginning, mainly about if baby was ok and healthy

Finding out the gender so early and that baby is healthy (thanks to the blood test at my doctors office) is such a blessing

How far along: 13 weeks (officially in the second trimester now)
Size: A lemon ๐Ÿ‹
Name Situation: We have a favorite (a few actually, back from when we came up with names when I was pregnant with Camden), but we haven’t decided on one for sure yet!
Gender: We found out on Thursday March 28th that baby is a GIRL!! ๐Ÿ’• We will never ever forget that moment. I was putting Camden down for a nap when I saw I had a voicemail that the test results were in. I was so nervous to call my doctors office back, and when I heard them say the results were normal and that it’s a baby girl I immediately started crying, and then quickly called Billy with the news.
Sickness: No morning sickness as of the past week (YAY), but at 11.5 weeks I came down with a stomach virus and was really sick for 4 days. I was miserable and the sickest I've been in years. It was really hard to bounce back from, so I'm extremely happy just to be feeling better overall.
Cravings: Cereal, fruit (oranges), ice cream and candy, margaritas (haha)
Aversions: My aversions have been less than they were before, but still not a big fan of any meat right now.
Nursery: We have 3 bedrooms upstairs and the biggest room is actually in our loft space (which is open right now and not a closed yet) so our first step is that we are getting this bedroom closed off, and then we will decide if we're keeping the boys in their current rooms and use the 3rd bedroom as the nursery, or if we will move Camden to that big room and use the smallest room for the nursery. I have ideas, though, on how I want the nursery to look so I'm feeling really excited about getting started!
Heartbeat: 140 at our first appointment, 164 at the second
What I'm Wearing: It is so nice that high waisted jeans are in right now because they will still fit me for awhile. I haven't had to use the rubber band trick yet but I'm sure that fun is right around the corner. Since I’m in still in that in between phase of not really looking pregnant but instead that I ate too much, I’ve been just wearing loose tops. I have a post that will be up tomorrow with some things I’ve bought recently that are bump friendly!
Bellybutton: No change to the bellybutton yet
Movement: Not yet, I can’t wait!
Sleep: I’ve been sleeping really well at home, but when we were in Disney I had the hardest time falling asleep. It took me 3 hours to actually fall asleep a few nights. Probably due to sharing a room with 2 kids and a husband... :)
Weight gain: 4 lbs
Workouts: During the first trimester and when I first found out I was pregnant, I noticed right away how much I needed to slow down with my running. With the boys' pregnancies I didn't run out of breath as much as I do now, and it's weird because I've been just as active leading up to getting pregnant like I was with them. My circulation this pregnancy has also been really different (my veins are extremely blue and out of control!)) Now that I'm feeling better I try to get in 2-3 workouts on the treadmill/some weights per week, but there were definitely some weeks in the beginning where it was less and I couldn't workout due to being sick.
What we're most excited about: Well, finding out we are having a girl definitely takes the cake for the most exciting moment but we're both really excited about decorating the nursery!
Practically everything has been different with this pregnancy, so I thought it would be fun to share how opposite things have been for me. Please remember this is just my experience and I know everyone has different pregnancies (and are maybe are more sick with boys than girls), but for me the "typical" girl symptoms you hear of have been SO spot on...

With the boys...
My hair: Shiny and grew FAST, Now: Sooo dry!
Carrying: Very low, Now: Higher
Skin: Dry, Now: Really soft
Food aversions: Virtually NONE, Now: Smells bother me & tons of aversions!
Aches/pains: Were all on my right side with the boys, Now: Left side

So yeah, very very different experiences for me.

We are so excited to meet you, baby girl!!! You are SO loved already!

First ultrasound at almost 7 weeks

Second ultrasound at 10 weeks

From the day we found out it was a girl!

BABY KRYSH #3 IS A...

GIRL!!!! ๐Ÿ’–

We can hardly believe it and have been on cloud 9 since finding out!

A little baby girl who will have two amazing big brothers to protect her, I truly couldn’t feel happier if I tried. We would have been thrilled to give the boys another brother and add another son to our family, but we were really hoping we would be able to have a daughter since this is most likely our last child.

Ever since my mom passed away when I was a teenager, I’ve always had a strong desire to have a mother daughter relationship with my own daughter, and I have cried so many happy tears that I will have that opportunity (and how cool is it that my due date is within a few weeks of my mom's birthday?) The boys are truly so excited to have a little sister...they ran around the house screaming when we told them and told me they wanted to go buy her a new toy....a monster truck to be exact, haha! And as for Camden? Apparently we never needed to get a blood test done because he told Billy a few days before we found out that we were pregnant, “I have a little brother and soon I’m going to be getting a little sister!” ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‚

This entire pregnancy I’ve really felt in my heart that this baby is a girl, but logic kept telling me boy! This pregnancy has been the exact opposite of both the boys' (a whole new post for a different day) that it just makes so much sense. We found out on Thursday and it has been the hardest secret to keep, even if it’s only been a few days! We have just been really soaking it up, telling our families (they are ecsatic!), feeling thankful that she is healthy, and naturally I had to run out and get a quick shopping trip in for this little girl! Let's not even talk about the fact of how much trouble I'm going to be in now that I get to shop in all the sections....

Thank you so much for all for your love, and can’t wait to share my first bump date post soon!

Our Family Is Growing Again!

Baby number 3 is arriving early October!

I know it's been basically forever since I've posted on my blog, but how could I not come on here and share this huge news?! We are all very excited for this little one to join our family, and it was so fun being able to announce (on my instagram) while we were in Disney World this past week.

I'm so sorry for somewhat abandoning my blog, but I've made the decision that I'm going to start making time for it again because I miss this outlet so much, and I also really want to document this new journey in our life.

I thought I would share a little bit about this pregnancy real quick....

Due date? October 10th (I am currently 11 weeks now)

Are we finding out the gender? We will find out if baby is a boy or girl within the next week (is it not crazy how early you can find out now with the bloodtests?!) and will do a reveal after we find out!!

How have I been feeling? I found out I was pregnant the day before my period was due back on January 28th, and I only took the test because I was cleaning out under my bathroom sink before bed and wanted to be able to throw away the last box of pregnancy tests that I had (it came with 7 or so and there was only 1 left.) Haha! We had been trying for the past 6 months and basically all the other months I could've *sworn* I was pregnant, but ended up getting false tests so this was actually the one month that I didn't think I was pregnant, but once I took the test the line came up positive within seconds! I couldn't help but scream and tell Billy right away. :) I started getting really bad morning sickness around 6.5 weeks and then the food aversions and exhaustion came with it too. So far this pregnancy has been completely different than the boys...I felt really good in general with both of them (I had some morning sickness with Grayson but nothing like I've had with this pregnancy) and my energy was up, but this time around I've needed a nap almost daily and just haven't felt much like myself! The morning sickness creeps in around 3pm and lasts all night, but luckily as of the past week I've started feeling much better! Another difference with this pregnancy is that I actually feel sick after I eat (versus with the boys food always seemed to make me feel better) and smells have really gotten to me. I can’t even change Grayson’s diapers sometimes without running to the bathrooms after. I know that all of this won't last forever and that it'll all be worth it for a healthy baby!

How did the boys react? We showed the boys the ultrasound picture and they were so excited! Camden has been asking for another sibling for about a year now, haha. He has been baby obsessed lately. Grayson always says, "awww baby! so cute!" and then gives my belly a hug. They have colored pictures for the baby and seem to be pretty excited!

Okay, now it's time for some fun old wives tales. I really don't believe any of these because they were all mainly wrong with both boys, but it's still fun to document and keep track of, right?!

Heartbeat: 140-145 (Camden’s heartbeat was always 160-165 and Grayson’s was around 140 as well)
Cravings: Sweets, carbs, and fruit. Literally NOTHING in between. There have been many days that literally nothing sounds good!
Morning Sickness: Yes
Sleeping on Left or Right Side: Right
Heartburn: No
Chinese Calendar Says: Boy (it said girl for both boys I’m pretty sure!)
Headaches: Not many
Complexion: No breakouts!
Baking Soda Test: This one was correct with both boys. It fizzed for them, no fizz this time.
Baby Bump is High or Low: I feel like I'm carrying higher this time so far, and I definitely started showing earlier. I have felt so bloated ever since I peed on that stick!
Mommy's Guess: Boy (mainly because it's all I know after 2 boys)
Daddy's Guess: Girl

I'll be back with another fun post soon! Thank you for coming back to read our news!!!!

Life Updates

Well well well...where to begin? I guess the first thing to fill you in on is that I'm definitely still pregnant, and we're just waiting on pins and needles for baby boy to make his debut! I have been walking seriously nonstop the past week hoping that might get things rolling, but no such luck! He's pretty content it appears and hey, that's okay! (ask me how I feel about this come late next week...)

Anyway, I know a post about this past weekend is really delayed at this point but I do want to blog about it! It was just one of those good for the soul weekends. We were able to have one last date night so we ventured to the Short North for happy hour and dinner at Bakersfield. My only request was a nonalcoholic margarita and to sit on a patio and since Bakersfield had both (and chips and quesa which is Billy's fav), it was a no brainer that is where we ended up! We walked down to a chocolate shop afterwards and splurged on a chocolate mousse cake for dessert.

I also managed to sneak away to get my hair done and decided to get some balayage highlights.  It's hard to tell because this pic came out really blurry, but here's a look! I'm really loving how it turned out!

The rest of the weekend was filled with a family coffee date in German Village and taking Camden to his favorite spots to play, including a visit to the zoo. Cam is really enjoying the zoo these days (he is in love with the petting zoo-he literally runs up to each goat and sheep to brush their hair), so it's always fun to go as a family and see the excitement in his eyes.

Now to explain what else has been going on the past few days. It's been a little crazy, and I'm not talking about Amazon's Prime Day (which I ended up scoring nothing..hashtag what a bummer!)

Throughout all of last week Camden had a little cough on and off, but it wasn't anything that sounded too serious and he was acting completely fine. On Sunday, though, I noticed that it was getting worse and he would have a few coughing spells where he would cough up to a minute or longer, and seemed to be struggling a bit more, so I decided to take him into the pediatrician Monday morning. I was fully convinced prior to the appointment that he had whooping cough (even though he's been vaccinated) and was semi freaking out. The doctor did end up wanting to test for it and it came back negative for whooping cough, but positive for a different type of bacterial illness that can cause pneumonia. He is now on a 5 day antibiotic and seems to be on the mend. This entire time (even at the doctors!) he has been such a little trooper and his normal happy self, so you wouldn't know he was even sick.

We are so happy we brought him in to the doctor when we did, and that it didn't happen in say a week from now, so that he's able to get better before his baby brother arrives.

On top of all that...yesterday I received heartbreaking news from my mom's side of the family. My Mom's sister, my Aunt Chris, went in for a routine procedure and ended up having a major stroke and blood clots/swelling in her brain. They had to do emergency brain surgery and weren't sure if she was going make it. By the grace of God, she did make it through the surgery but a lot of damage was done in her brain so they are pretty much taking it day by day, minute by minute. This is obviously devastating to my family, so if you would be so kind to please keep her + my family in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated. She has a long journey ahead of her, but they are remaining hopeful and trying to stay positive which is the best thing you can do in situations like this.

So, that would be why I've been a little MIA the past few days. Like I said last week, I DO plan to continue blogging up until the baby comes + already have some posts lined up (hello! my picks for the huge Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that starts next week, if you have a Nordstrom card you can shop it today), just maybe just not as much as I normally would so please bear with me! I'm sorry for not having a more consistent schedule around here. For more updates + baby news (when the time comes!), you can follow me on instagram or on snapchat (katiewkrysh.)

Happy Thursday!

37 Week Bumpdate

How Far Along? 37 weeks ...FULL TERM! Woo woo! (this picture doesn't do my belly justice-I feel so huge)

Size of Baby: A honeydew melon

Weight Gain: 22 lbs

Stretch marks/Swelling: None yet

Symptoms: The complete opposite of the past few weeks because I've been feeling really good, except for being so tired at the end of each day. As of the past few days I've been needing to nap when Camden naps otherwise I feel extremely burnt out. I've had a lot of BH contractions and also some menstrual type cramping here and there (feels like I'm about to get my period) a couple times and my doctor told me she thought I would be dilated upon hearing that.

Labor Signs: At my 36 week appointment last week I was 1 cm dilated, 60% effaced. This week I'm 1.5cm dilated, 70% effaced. So not much change! My gut really tells me I might go early with this one, but now that I say that he will probably be late. :) I was barely 2cm dilated when my water broke with Cam, so who really knows?! I know that no matter what, though, dilation and effacement aren't true indicators of when labor will actually happen, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up into thinking he is going to come early!

Cravings: I've actually gotten to the point now where I have to force myself to eat often because I get so full so quickly. My appetite has definitely gone down and I'm not craving as much.

Mood: Feeling much more relaxed this time around than I was at this point with Camden. I'm not second guessing myself as much and not as nervous about labor and delivery, even with the uncertainty with the epidural (if I will be able to get it or not due to my platelets.) I'm so looking forward to meeting our second son, and keep wondering how and when it'll happen!

I will add this random thought here...you will NOT see me this pregnant in the middle of summer ever again, ha. Definitely not my favorite!

Nursery: Shared pictures here.

Sleep: Getting harder and harder to switch sides - my hips haven't really ached at all this pregnancy up until now. I'm also up going to the bathroom 1-2 times per night now. Getting up out of bed with this big ole belly isn't easy!

Workouts: Trying to get some decent walks in everyday and of course, chasing Camden around is a workout in itself.

Best Moment This Week: Just making it to 37 weeks is a celebration in itself! I'm SO close and just very ready for him to make his debut! Everything at home is ready and taken care of, too. Our bags are packed...the car seat is installed...and we have plans set up for Cam and Rocky for when I go into labor

Looking Forward To: MEETING BABY BOY! Please don't be late like your brother...mmmkay? (And I'm really excited to be able to call him by his name, too! This has been WAY too hard!) My only true hope and wish for my labor this time around is that I will be able to get an epidural, but aside from that all I care about is a healthy baby and mama!

So...any predictions? Will I make it to my due date or will baby #2 come early?! What do you think?

PS: THANK YOU all in advance for hanging in there with me during all these huge transition phases in my life. I know I haven't been the most consistent with my posting, but I do plan to continue blogging so please keep checking back for updates! I really apreciate all the support and getting to know a lot of you over the years! :)

Maternity Photos

All pictures taken by: Little Roo Studios

I went back and forth no less than five times if I wanted to have maternity pictures done. I don't like being in front of the camera much as it is, but with a big ole' third trimester belly I was even more unsure about it. However, in the end I knew the magic that Little Roo Studios could work (and wanted an excuse to wear this sequin dress) so I decided to give it a go!

Well, getting these pictures in my inbox instantly made me SO freaking happy that we did them. Sure...I may have sweated my butt off, had the worst hair day (always happens when you want your hair to cooperate, doesn't it?), and Camden was really hard to photograph (you try to keep a toddler boy away from hundreds of sticks when in the woods, ha) but it was so worth it. Rachel and Jared somehow managed to get some really cute pictures of Cam, and he seriously loved that they let him "play" with their camera and press the button to take a few on his own, ha.

These pictures mark such a special time in our lives as our family is growing, and I know we will cherish them forever. Baby #2, we're ready for you and cannot wait to meet you!

PS: Little Roo Studios is currently giving 20% off any session, so if you're interested in booking one NOW is the time!! Don't forget to enter their giveaway, too.
