CURRENTLY, I AM... {LOTS OF LIFE UPDATES}

Happy hump day, friends!
I hope you enjoyed the blog advice giveaway we had going on yesterday.

So, I realized it's been a hot minute or two since I've shared little tid bits going on in this life of mine. Summer is so busy and I'm loving every minute of it, as I'm sure all of you are!

First of all, if you don't have the bronzer pictured above-run to your local Macy's or anywhere that sells Estee Lauder and buy it. I've used it for over 10 years and can't seem to find another bronzer out there that is better. While you're at it, take a sniff of their new perfume that is also called Bronze Goddess. If you like the beach, you will love this perfume. Yum yum!

Let's get into it...

Reading: Yeah....you might remember when I mentioned I bought the Great Gatsby on my iPad to read when we went to Florida a couple weeks ago? I'm halfway finished. I can't seem to WANT to finish it...should I keep going or just go see the movie? Help a sister out!

Listening to: Is it just me or has music been getting better lately? I have found so many songs that I'm loving recently. Here's my top playlist right now (that doubles as my running/gym music): Blurred Lines -T.I. and Pharrell, The Other Side-Jason Derulo, Runnin' Outta Moonlight-Randy Houser, and I Need Your Love-Calvin Harris. All of them on repeat.

Loving: The amount of froyo I've justified that is OK to eat in the summer. It's hot out? Let's go get fro yo. I worked out? Let's cool off with some fro yo. It's the weekend? Fro yo.

These chips are my new bff.
SO GOOD. SO GOOD.

Doing kind things...
I left this note in the mailbox this week for our mailman :)

 The VS/B&BW Semi Annual Sale...
yee-haw!

Also, last but not least, EEK! I'm hosting a fun party tonight at my house that I plan to share ALL about tomorrow! I can't wait. There will be lots of celebrating going on! :)

Wearing: Summer clothes? I'm a big fan. Here are some recent outfit of the day's that I've failed to mention lately...

 {lace shorts and top: forever21, sandals: sam edelman, necklace: southern charm apparel}

 {peplum skirt: express, striped top: forever21, necklace: old, shoes: BCBG}
{neon pink pants: old navy, sandals: target (last year), top: forever21, necklace: bauble bar, iced coffe: via mcdonalds ;)}

Looking Forward To: Being home this weekend and having time to go to the pool, finally! We have been traveling the past three weekends and I'm excited to get some stuff done around our house and Billy plans to stain our deck.... again. I say Billy, and not us, because me and stain don't get along very well, otherwise I'd help him. Remember when I showed you our deck Billy stained last year and it looked all amazing?

Well, Mr. stain decided he wanted to give us a run for our money and start peeling on us this year. Not so fun. Billy contacted the company and they paid for new supplies for him to do it again, but it still stinks he has to re-do it already after only one year!

Cooking/Baking: my favorite energy bites and this dip - if you're new here, go check them out!

Thanking you: for reading my blog! I've officially hit 3,000 followers and that makes me so so so happy inside! I just want to scream and jump up and down :) thank you for your support and kind emails/comments.

PS-Make sure you enter my makeup/date nights giveaway and also my recent Malibu one where you can enter to win $100!

Come back tomorrow for SPD to find out what I'm celebrating tonight, or else! ;)

  3. I personally did not like the Great Gatsby, maybe because I had to read it over the summer for my AP English class so it ruined my summer or just because I didn't like the story. Either way ... I'd just see the movie. Also, cute bathing suit!!

  4. Cute outfits. I especially love those strappy, leopard print sandals!

  5. Those lace shorts are super cute!! There's never a bad time for froyo. Hummus chips? I have to try those! I started The Great Gatsby too and I barely made it through chapter 1. I just don't like the way it's written and can't get into it. I feel as though I should suck it up and read it, it is a short book after all, but it just seems so boring.

  6. Okay I can legit say I'm intrigued, excited, and a little bit hoping this celebration tonight is for a baby krysh ;) or maybe another rocky? Either one will be fine.
    I LOVED the book of The Great Gatsby... however, there was no pretty Leo to stare at for the duration. SO- go see the movie!

  13. I did not read the book Great Gatsby, but I saw the movie. I was disappointed, of course Leo was easy on the eyes but I think the trailor built it up too much. Also, I think there should be a drinking game every time Leo says "old sport"...then again that might not end well...just prepare yourself, old sport ;)

  15. love your outfits and i've been hunting for those lace shorts everywhere!!! and english teacher here....obsessed with Gatsby!! the book, the new movie jury is still out, but you might want to watch the 1974 version with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. The book is a bit difficult those first few chapters, but it gets interesting towards the end. Think of all the themes in it...everyone if sleeping with everyone, drinking like there's no tomorrow even thou there prohibition, rich people can do whatever they want...i could go on and on...but again english teacher who loves this book so I'm very biased :)

  21. Your backyard and deck is absolutely beautiful! I am also addicted to froyo. I've been wanting to try those hummus chips, but I hadn't heard anything about them. Now that I have, I can't wait to try some.

  22. I am loving that grey blouse! So cute!
    And are you hitting up that pool with the swim-up bar? I am incredibly jealous!! My number one bucket list is to go to a swim-up bar (I shoot for the stars, what can I say) I may, or may not, have planned our entire honeymoon around the swim-up bar options!

  23. Oh VS and your awesome sale... it's like Duck/Deer season for women ;)

  24. I liked, but didn't love, GG when I read it several years ago. The old version of the movie was SO BORING, and because of the nature of the story, I feel like the new one might be too, just dressed up with better cinematography and music.

    Good playlist - I would add Daft Punk's Get Lucky. It's my number one get pumped up/workout song of the moment. Oh, and Icona Pop's I Love It.

  28. LOVE the new swimsuit and the neon pink pants!!! The Great Gatsby is one of my all time favorite books...ABSOLUTELY finish it before seeing the movie. I liked the movie (hello, Leo!) but it does not do the book justice!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Love the summer outfit color/pattern combos! Ang Gatsby - starts off slow as molasses, but the ending is the best part ... finish it. Then, go see the movie. :)

  30. Love those leopard sandals!! I have been eying the Sam Edelman ones... may have to pull the trigger! I am super envious of your backyard space! That is hard to come by in the Bay Area... and your grass just screams 'Slip n' Slide'!! :)

  31. I didn't get past the first chapter of the Great Gatsby....good luck.

  32. LOVE love love your outfits! always so cute! What running shoes are those i spy in the background? i need new ones after my beloved asics have given me terrible shin splints. I would finish gatsby, even if it is tough and then see the movie (but not in 3D) makes you kind of motion sick!

  33. I'm dying over those shorts... and I NEVER wear shorts. Strictly a summer dress girl here. Question though, are they high waisted? I've been looking for some and everywhere I find them they're high waist. Not too cool on a short torso gal like myself! You look smokin' as always :)

  34. I totally have those neon pink pants from Old Navy. I forced myself to get a bright color. Love em. Fro yo- yum!!!

  35. First let me just tell you how jealous I am of your back deck! If I had one, or even a yard at that, I would seriously live out there all day everyday!! And that note is the sweetest thing ever. I'm sure my mail lady would appreciate it, she never looks too happy! And those bathing suit tops are precious!

  39. This is such a fun post! I love the packaging of the bronzer. I didn't realize B&BB had wallflowers that were so cute! I think they've updated since I last checked. And where did you find those hummus chips. I love the sound of those and have to try them!
