A Favorite Outfit: Plaid Vest Restock

I can remember this one Friday in Ohio where it was almost too cold to function and my car read a negative number. That awesome, glorious day would be today.

I am thrilled.

However, since it is Friday and it also happens to be Ohio State game day we are going to focus on the truly positive and fabulous things today. Like for example this plaid vest that is on major sale and was just sold out in all sizes the other day except for small, but is now restocked in every size.

Did you hear that? Plaid. Vest. On sale. Every size... you better believe I jumped all over this deal before I could even think twice about it.

Everyday Outfit

Vest // Bracelet // Watch // Boots (new style & loving the gold details on the sides) // Jeans

An outfit like this is one you may or may not see me wear weekly in the winter because it's classic, comfortable, and can easily be mixed up to be worn different ways. The layers also help to unfreeze my body a little bit too but once again we are focusing on the positive today. I can't take all the credit for finding this vest, though, because my style friend Maureen first showed it to me!

As if you needed anything else to add to your cart (or if you're like me and missed getting all the cute vests at the beginning of the year that are now gone), here are some other vest options that might be too cute and too good of a price to pass up. Plaid not your thing? There's this awesome polka dot vest (in navy and purple) and a plain one that has every color you could possibly want...

Happy shopping, happy OSU gameday (please win, please win), and happy I-officially-want-to-move-South-day!

Because that is a day now.

Fresh Start / NYE Recap

Happy New Year!

How was everyone's New Years Eve? I hope you had a blast ringing in the new year. I'm going to be honest, I've never been a big fan of New Years Eve and I'm perfectly OK with just having a nice dinner out with friends (which we did!) and then playing games and having drinks back at someone's house. Billy and I did make a little promise to ourselves that next year we would save a few of our vacation days to spend New Years Eve on a trip somewhere...anywhere...warm. Where that will be we aren't sure yet, but writing it here will {hopefully} help me not forget this little plan of ours and make it happen.

 {after I put this dress on I realized I wore the same exact one for NYE last year but still decided to go with it because 2013 was one heck of a year..maybe it was a lucky dress! Ya never know ;)}

I can tell you what I am a big fan of, though.

Spending the first day of the year in pajamas (and I mean the WHOLE day...anyone else do this?), putting together a new coffee table while sipping mimosas and brunching all day. THAT I can handle....

coffee table rustic table world market
 {I spy a furry #photobomber...}

We purchased this Henry coffee table from World Market (on major sale-we actually even got it cheaper than this with a coupon, too!) and are so happy with it. We couldn't love it anymore, actually. It's really big and we love how it goes with our other decor!

We had eggs, potatoes, fruit, and cinnamon rolls then played a few games at the house together before taking our Christmas tree and all our decorations down. The house feels so plain and bare now without them!

One of my first goals for 2014 (I'm not much of a resolution person either, but I do love setting specific goals) is to juice once per day for 7 days. Today is day 1! When the 7 days is up, I plan to share all the juice recipes/combinations here in case anyone is interested. Or you can follow me on instagram because I'm posting the full recipes there as I drink them.

In 2014, there are certain things I want to work on and this picture sums up a lot of them...

 goals resolutions quotes

And since I was MIA yesterday, I just want to thank you for making this year so amazing by reading and commenting and connecting with me. This blog has not only been my happy place + creative outlet for a couple years, but has opened so many new doors for me and I can only hope it continues to do so. May 2014 be the best yet! Cheers and much love to you all :)

Come back tomorrow for my new favorite outfit/a plaid vest I just recently found that you will love. Everyone needs a cute plaid vest in the fall/winter, right?

Right.

PS: Don't forget to watch TONED UP tonight on Bravo! Finally! Also, today is the start of the VS semi-annual sale! My top picks: this amazing workout jacket, these pajamas, these PINK pants.

Holiday Party Wear

Untitled #38

Details: Blue Lace Dress / Halogen Katrina Bootie / Nude Heels (also love these) / Wrap Blouse (more colors) / Cardigan / Plaid Top (on sale) / Black Heels / iPhone case (bling bling!)

The best time of year is officially {almost} here! I don't know about you, but I'm mentally already there. Everyone is in the holiday spirit and a little bit more relaxed, you get to spend extra time with loved ones, and getting dolled up for holiday parties and new years is the name of the game.

I actually wore this blue lace dress (which is now 20% off) to my girlfriend's wedding this weekend. I almost always turn to lace when dressing up in the winter...it's so classy and I absolutely love the blue color on this one! This wrap blouse would be perfect with leather pants or black skinny jeans and heels. If you're looking to dress down a bit, I would throw on this warm cardigan or a plaid top with your favorite pair of skinny jeans.

Since I can never make up my mind on what I want to wear (seriously...), I always try and have both dressy and casual outfits with my favorite items picked out that I can turn to quickly.

Now, who wants to start the Christmas countdown? I'm so excited to have a nice holiday break with our families! It's a happy Monday over here, and I hope the same goes for you (and that all your shopping is complete by now...if not, I will send some prayers your way as I've been there before. :))

PS: $100 Gas Gift Card is up for grabs here! Go enter! :)

Fall Boots: Clarks {ft. $100 Zappos Gift Card!}

If you know me at all (or follow me on the Insta), then you know I have a minor major obsession with shopping, as do most girls. That's just how we are. But for me, it's boot shopping, in particular that gets me.

To my husband, it seems like I'm always looking for the perfect Fall boots to add to my closet (this might be half true). This year and last year, I've been loving all the different styles of booties that are available. Booties can be paired with so many different outfits- from cute dresses with a jacket over top, to casual boyfriend jeans and a sweater.

If I'm shopping online for shoes? I order from Zappos.

Their customer service and super quick delivery truly cannot be beat. Not to mention, they have free shipping both ways and a 365-day return policy... I call that an awesome company.

My two latest Zappos boot purchases?
left: rosepoint bud, right: alpine icy

How cute are both of these shoes? Don't be surprised when you see me wearing these all the time in the next upcoming months, that's all I've gotta say. ;)

I'd heard awesome things about Clarks before (mainly about how comfortable their shoes are), but had yet to pull the trigger and try them for myself. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty picky when it comes to boots.

That all changed though when I spotted these two boots online. I had to have them and I'm happy to report that the quality of these Clarks booties far exceeded my expectations. The leather is gorgeous and they actually have padding on the inside (major plus!). They are so comfortable, yet stylish, and I've already received so many compliments on them. I love that not everyone I see out and about has this style and that I can actually introduce them to Clarks!

If you are interested in adding Clarks to your shoe collection (which you definitely should!), you can call (800) 927-7671 or go to Zappos to purchase your own!

Want to win a $100 Zappos Gift Card (who wouldn't?)

Friday Fashion Finds - Shop Lately?

Who's ready for a weekend full of football, bonfires, and Octoberfest?

::hand raised::

This is exactly how I plan to spend my weekend and I can't wait. The weather here has been nothing short of amazing...low 80's during the day and into the 60's at night (hello open doors and windows!)

Today, I have three new shops to introduce you to that I think you are really going to like! This definitely counts as a happy Friday, so let's get into it.

Have you heard of them? I can't believe I haven't shopped here until recently. You can't beat the prices for jewelry, scarves, bags, etc. and everything is trendy and cute.

I've been wearing this wrap bracelet and the fantasy crystal necklace {obsessed} ever since I got them in the mail. They will be perfect statement pieces for fall.

 {fantasy crystal necklace also pictured below}

I can't tell you how much I love this heart sweatshirt. I wouldn't really call it a sweatshirt though because it is really light. It's so soft and can be paired with many things. I've been wearing it with boyfriend jeans too and it makes for a really easy, comfortable outfit.

Your new favorite online boutique with cute dresses, tops, and accessories! Not to mention, the owner Paula, is as sweet as they come and provides amazing customer service.

 That would be a gorgeous silver bow bangle: $12 (also comes in gold)

I'm actually planning on wearing this necklace for OSU game days...starting tomorrow!

Some other favorites?

 Before I go...

Rocky wanted me to show you that he got a fancy new haircut for Chicago next week!

He is so handsome.

 Have a fabulous weekend and LET'S GO BUCKS!

Fashion Fix: Accessorize

Accessories

Braided Mint Necklace (sold out) / Bow Bangles ($20)  / J.Crew Striped Tee ($45) / Alice + Olivia Peplum Skirt (sold out)

Happy Friday! Has this felt like a really long week to anyone else?

It's no secret that I love the feeling that it's finally Friday after a long week. It's also no secret that I love statement jewelry. On any given day, you can see me wearing a handful of colorful jewels. I especially love wearing beautiful, bold pieces in the summer because they provide such a quick, instant upgrade to an otherwise plain and boring outfit! Summer is the one season you can get away with going bolder and standing out, so you might as well take advantage of it, right?

One of my favorite ways to mix up my style in the summer is to pair a plain striped shirt and peplum skirt (perfect for work or even a girls night out!) with a big chunky necklace and colorful bracelets, like in the collage above. It can totally change the look of an entire outfit in a very inexpensive way, which I think we all can appreciate.

Two of my other go-to looks that I like to wear statement necklaces with are boyfriend jeans and a plain casual top, and then everyone's favorite chambray shirt with shorts. It gives the outfits more of an edge!

Some of my favorite places to shop for fabulous, inexpensive accessories are: T + J Designs, Bauble Bar, The Rad Market, and Forever21.

(some of my most worn necklaces from left to right: The Rad Market, Charming Charlie's, and T + J Designs; similar)

What is your favorite accessory to spice up an outfit in the summer?

Also, did you hear that H&M is now available to shop online? Even though we have a few local stores here in Columbus, I'm pretty giddy about this news!

This weekend is the annual Irish Festival which is always so much fun, and tomorrow we got a group of friends together and plan to go cabrewing (don't you love that word?) during the day, weather permitting. We are supposed to get thunderstorms so I'm not sure if it will hold off, but I'm crossing my fingers!

Have an amazing weekend, would you? Here's to hoping it won't go by too quick...

Friday Fashion Finds!

On Tuesday, I told myself it was Wednesday.
On Wednesday, I told myself it was Thursday....
It does not make the week feel short, I'll tell you that much.
It's safe to say I'm happy that it's finally Friday! It IS Friday, right? I've got a hot date tonight with my cowboy boots, my man, and my girlfriends to hear a live country music band play...I'm thrilled. Tomorrow, I plan to work in the yard and then will be celebrating one of my girlfriends birthdays later that evening! It looks like this weekend has a lot of potential...but then again, every weekend does. And is normally really amazing.

Moving on...

I've got some fabulous deals to share with you today!
Let's start with the newbies that I haven't shared with you yet...

The cutest dresses, accessories, and jewelry at amazing prices.
 *free shipping on all orders!
When I say jewelry, I mean they have the popular monogrammed necklaces that you've always wanted but didn't want to shell out one hundred bones. I finally proudly own a gold monogrammed necklace from them and am so impressed with it.

Some other looks from them?

and two dresses that I've since added to my wishlist:

**the best part? KC&CO readers can get 15% off any purchase until May 5th, using the code MYKEEPCALM. OR you can use the code EXTRAFIVE to get 20% off orders over $30.00, also good until May 5th. {you add the code after you confirm your payment info!}

Do you know how many good deals I just added up mentally with one of those coupons?
Get on it! Such a great shop.

 A boutique started by a friendship between two girls who met in college and shared a love of fashion. One happens to be the lovely Regan who is a blogger herself and a friend of mine.

Nothing in their shop is over $50!

Don't you love that? I do.

I'm wearing their Navy 3/4 Sleeve Blouse ($28) that is absolutely perfect for spring. It's lightweight and goes with skinny jeans, skirts, or shorts.

Some items I'm eyeing for you guys (and myself) are these pretties...

Chevron Peplum Top / Stripe Shift Dress / Peg Necklace

You can follow Crave Boutique on Instagram (@shopcrave), so you can stay updated on their new arrivals!

3.  Last, but not least, you know my love for Style Love Living:

Well, they just got in skirts. Cute maxi chevron type skirts. Oh, and dresses and tops!
They still sell their awesome jewelry, they have just expanded to these as well.

They have multiple colors/styles of this..go take a look!

Rocky says happy shopping, ladies.

A Few Of My Favorite Things

What is 2 days long (but should be longer), the best part of the week, and has fun written all over it?
The weekend. Like you needed my help with that answer.
This one was exactly that!

It involved some of my favorite things...
 fro yo (that Billy picked up for me on Sunday-thank you hubs), preparing for St. Patrick's Day with these mustache straws (only the best holiday ever), actually getting dressed up // out of sweatpants ;), new hydrangeas in a pot for our kitchen table.

And some of my favorite outfits recently...
you guys on instagram (follow me @katiewkrysh) seemed to love this first outfit (specifically the shoes)
so thank you, thank you for all the love!

{shoes: converse (first time busting them out this year!), jeans: f21, top: old navy, sweater: h&m, watch: target}

{boots: kohls (last year), top: old navy, blazer: h&m}

Saturday, while Billy helped my Dad start to move things to their new house, I ran some errands and tried a new juice recipe that I thought I'd share with you in case you want to try it....

3 carrots
1 apple
half a cucumber
1/4 of a lemon
2-3 stalks of celery
2 handfuls of spinachs
1 pear

=
a good time.

Billy always tells me I'm in "such a good mood" after I juice...and it's true.
It's like juicing is my "coffee" (which by the way, I haven't had in a month...)

Saturday night, Billy's cousin Greg was in town so we decided to go out downtown with some friends and then meet up with him at a birthday party.

Sunday was spent much like this.....
Wasn't mad about it at all.

Also, happy Valentines day week!
I've got some good things planned this week to celebrate ;)

Tomorrow I have a pretty awesome/tasty/you will want to eat your computer screen recipe that I'm pretty excited to share! It'd be perfect to make for your loved one, so come back then or forever hold your hunger. Something along those lines.

How did you spend your weekend?

PS-The winner of my Red Lobster giveaway is Hannah from TFATO.
 Hope you're ready to eat some yummy food! I will be emailing you shortly.
Thank you to those who entered!

VISITORS + SOME OUTFITS!

Hey guys!

Did your team win the Superbowl last night?
I didn't really care either way who won, but was somewhat pulling for the 49ers!

We had some visitors this weekend at our house and even managed to get surprised by a few more.
Friday after work we were expecting Billy's brother and his Dad to come into town, but when we opened the door his uncle and cousin came with them too. It was so fun to see them and have them stay with us for a night. Billy had a hockey game to ref so we went down to campus to watch him (or to almost get kicked out for cheering too loud-yep, for the ref... ha) and then we went to a couple places afterwards for dinner and drinks. It was an entertaining (and late night) for us, but somehow I still managed to get up for spin class at 9 on Saturday morning! Success!

I managed to wear two striped dresses this weekend..guess I was really in the mood for them.
Can I just mention real quick how hard it is to look cute in the winter?
You only have so many options!
Anyway-the first dress (that is under the cream sweater and is red/navy) is from Kiki La' Rue, scarf Marley Lilly, Boots UrbanOG, and sweater is Forever 21.

This is what I wore Saturday night for date night.
Dress Forever 21, sweater is h&m, belt is from Target, and unfortunately I can't remember where I got the chevron necklace.
{do you have instagram? follow me @katiewkrysh & leave a comment letting me know your username!}

Saturday afternoon the boys left and me and Billy had date night the rest of the evening. We actually ended up finding one of our favorite new pizza places by luck! We were in the area going somewhere else but decided to try somewhere new (Meister's Pizza/Bar in Grandview) instead, and boy was that a good decision on our end! They have some amazing pizza. If you go-get the deep dish. They put the sauce on top of the cheese and toppings and it was SO GOOD. I can't stress that enough. We were happy campers ;)

On Sunday besides watching the game, we ran errands and finished up an awesome DIY project around our house (that will be posted on Thursday) and we are SO happy we did it! Stay tuned for that. I also got around to painting my nails pink and red for Valentine's Day and we hung this print from the lovely SS Print Shop in our bathroom!

Tonight, I was invited to go to a tasting event at Red Lobster with some other bloggers and we are trying out their new menu with lighter calorie options that is currently in the works! How fun is that?

Will keep you posted with yummy details, of course. What kind of blogger would I be if I didn't? ;)

I have to ask...is anyone else watching Pump Rules after the Bachelor on Monday's? Someone? Anyone?! I fully admit that I'm 100% obsessed with this show. I may be a bit biased because Lisa is one of my favorite housewives anyways, but it's like the new Hills! Maybe even a bit better at times. Except Brody isn't in it and that definitely gives them one strike against them.

*Linked up with Sami today for Weekend Update.
Winner of the Poshlocket giveaway will be announced tomorrow friends!
