Fresh Start / NYE Recap

Happy New Year!

How was everyone's New Years Eve? I hope you had a blast ringing in the new year. I'm going to be honest, I've never been a big fan of New Years Eve and I'm perfectly OK with just having a nice dinner out with friends (which we did!) and then playing games and having drinks back at someone's house. Billy and I did make a little promise to ourselves that next year we would save a few of our vacation days to spend New Years Eve on a trip somewhere...anywhere...warm. Where that will be we aren't sure yet, but writing it here will {hopefully} help me not forget this little plan of ours and make it happen.

 {after I put this dress on I realized I wore the same exact one for NYE last year but still decided to go with it because 2013 was one heck of a year..maybe it was a lucky dress! Ya never know ;)}

I can tell you what I am a big fan of, though.

Spending the first day of the year in pajamas (and I mean the WHOLE day...anyone else do this?), putting together a new coffee table while sipping mimosas and brunching all day. THAT I can handle....

We purchased this Henry coffee table from World Market (on major sale-we actually even got it cheaper than this with a coupon, too!) and are so happy with it. We couldn't love it anymore, actually. It's really big and we love how it goes with our other decor!

We had eggs, potatoes, fruit, and cinnamon rolls then played a few games at the house together before taking our Christmas tree and all our decorations down. The house feels so plain and bare now without them!

One of my first goals for 2014 (I'm not much of a resolution person either, but I do love setting specific goals) is to juice once per day for 7 days. Today is day 1! When the 7 days is up, I plan to share all the juice recipes/combinations here in case anyone is interested. Or you can follow me on instagram because I'm posting the full recipes there as I drink them.

In 2014, there are certain things I want to work on and this picture sums up a lot of them...

And since I was MIA yesterday, I just want to thank you for making this year so amazing by reading and commenting and connecting with me. This blog has not only been my happy place + creative outlet for a couple years, but has opened so many new doors for me and I can only hope it continues to do so. May 2014 be the best yet! Cheers and much love to you all :)

Come back tomorrow for my new favorite outfit/a plaid vest I just recently found that you will love. Everyone needs a cute plaid vest in the fall/winter, right?

Right.

PS: Don't forget to watch TONED UP tonight on Bravo! Finally! Also, today is the start of the VS semi-annual sale! My top picks: this amazing workout jacket, these pajamas, these PINK pants.

  1. That table - big ol' heart eyes over here!! And what a steal, too! Glad y'all had a great NYE and I'm with you on the pajamas all day yesterday (nooo, my hangover didn't contribute at all... why would you ask? ;))
    Happy 2014, friend!

  3. Love that new coffee table!! I want a dining room table like that. Also loooove the less/more image. Achieving those things is always a work in progress, but we bloggers don't mind a little work, right? Happy New year!

  6. Love the pop of color with the red shoes in your outfit! You can always come to FL for New Year's! It was in the 60's and we sat outside drinking Champagne by the water...just saying.... :-)

  7. That is such a cute table! I like the pic for the "resolutions" I think we can all do them. I seriously placed three separate orders with VS. It is such a sickness, I need help!

  8. OMG I am swooning over that coffee table! It would match our style perfectly!!!! and I cannot wait to read all about your juicing experience. I have been tossing around the idea of juicing or doing the paleo diet route in the New Year but I want to research it a little more. Happy New Year!

  9. We have had our eye on that coffee table for so long now! I love it! And now that I am a teacher, I don't think I have gotten out of my pj's in a week and a half, so no judging here! I might still be in them as I write this comment...shhhhh.

  14. I think I spent too much time watching "Kourtney Love Dallas" today because is that a Bauble Bar (sp?) on your wrist? Yeah, that's how my New Years has started off. Just a little work and relaxing in bed with my pooch while catching up on tv! The way you and Billy brought in the New Year sounds awesome! If you want to vacay somewhere warm-- check out Pensacola/Pensacola Beach, FL. It's been about 72 degrees during the day and 32 degrees at night (except rumor has it that it's going to be 19 degrees in the morning-- who knows. I've got to see it to believe it). We don't make snow angels here, we make sand angels (sugary sand beaches). Happy New Year, Girl. I hope this year is ten times as blessed as your last!
