Summer Essentials ft. JJ Cole Collections

{look who's learning to sit up on his own!}

The two days a week that I get to be home with Cam are my most cherished days. I honestly am so grateful for them because he is growing up so fast! Now that the weather is nice, being outside doing different things together is a must. Getting out of the house and having him experience new things is important to me, so I'm always racking my brain or searching the internet for ideas! Recently I took him to one of my favorite metro parks in the area to go for a little hike/walk, and then had a little picnic in the grass afterwards!

Aside from a diaper bag (more on that in a minute), there is one item in particular that I make sure to have on me at. all. times and that's the JJ Cole outdoor blanket. I really wish I would've registered for this blanket - it's portable, waterproof, has a fun pattern, and can be used literally anywhere. Your backyard, the park, the zoo...the list goes on and on! Not to mention, it takes me less than a minute to fold it up which might be the best thing about it! It's super easy as it just rolls right up and stays put with velcro. Since it folds up nicely, it doesn't take up a ton of room in your car and it's easy to carry around thanks to the shoulder strap!

I've also been using and loving the JJ Cole Parker bag. If your in the market for a new diaper bag, this one has everything you need and more. The price point is fantastic - it's amazing quality and looks much more expensive than it really is. I love the modern look of it (and the colors especially) and how the pockets are on the inside. I'm kind of OCD about having a certain place for every item and the pockets/layout of this bag makes me oh so happy. The other diaper bag I own has the big pockets on the outside, which isn't exactly ideal because things can easily fall out onto the ground. And since it's grey and neutral, Billy doesn't mind carrying it either!

Lastly, my new go-to carrier is now this one.

The Agility is safe for carrying babies 8 to 35 pounds and is similar to other wrap type carriers on the market but without the hassle of wrapping! Baby can face forward, which with most other similar carriers that position isn't recommended. Cam loves to be carried in it because he can look at everything around us instead of facing in!

All of these are must haves!

  What are your favorite baby items this summer?

PS: You can find The Parker at Babies R Us, the blanket at buybuyBABY and Amazon, and the Agility is available at Babies R Us, buybuyBABY, Target and Amazon.

Special thanks to JJ Cole for allowing me to review these goodies.  All opinions are my own.

  3. He is growing up so fast! Wow!

    Have you tried a Tula carrier yet? They are seriously my favorite. We have five. The ones that allow baby to face out seem cool, but they are not ergonomically friendly for baby's hips. It's bad for their development for their legs to just sort of dangle down like that without support.

    The world of carriers can be extremely overwhelming, so I mean this all in a friendly, helpful way :)
