Buffalo Wing Turkey Lettuce Cups

Tasty Tuesday is back! I'm happy to finally have a delicious recipe to share.

Billy has an obsession with anything buffalo flavored. He will normally almost always order buffalo chicken if it's available on a menu! In my attempt to cook more easy recipes, I came across this one and knew he would love it.  Actually I think a lot of men probably would because the creator of this recipe mentions in her post that her husband does as well. It's super flavorful and the crunch of the veggies on top totally makes it!

It's different because you are using turkey instead of chicken and lettuce for the wrap instead of a tortilla, and that's exactly why it's great! I'm all for switching it up.

Point is...just make it!

Buffalo Wing Turkey Lettuce Cups
(recipe from here)

Ingredients
+1 pound lean ground turkey
+½ cup onion, diced finely
+1 teaspoon minced garlic
+¾ cup carrot shavings (use a vegetable peeler to make shavings)
+1 cup celery, sliced thinly
+1 head iceberg lettuce, leaves removed to form cups
+salt and pepper
+½ cup Frank's Red Hot Buffalo wing sauce
+Blue cheese crumbles or blue cheese dressing to drizzle over the top (optional)

Instructions
+In a large skillet, saute the onions over medium heat until soft (3-4 minutes). Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Add ground turkey, season with a dash of salt and pepper, brown meat and cook until cooked through. Drain any grease if necessary.
+Return meat to pan and stir in the wing sauce. Reduce heat to low and simmer for a couple of minutes.
+Prepare lettuce cups. Place spoonful of meat into lettuce cup, top with a few carrot shavings and chopped celery. Sprinkle with some blue cheese crumbles and/or dressing.

PS: If you would say a prayer for my mom's side of the family, it would be really appreciated. My Uncle Mark (on my mom's side) passed away yesterday after battling cancer. Thanks in advance!

  1. Hi Katie, so sorry for your loss! I understand all too well losing a family member to cancer. On a happier note, this recipe looks amazing. I love ground turkey and replace beef with it in almost every recipe!
