Week 31 Bumpdate

The details:

*Camden is now the size of a PINEAPPLE! Finally, an awesome fruit after all these weeks!
*All five of his senses are now developed and he's getting smarter! I'm glad someone is because his momma is becoming way more absentminded. I may or may not have paid for gas at the gas station yesterday and left without actually pumping it for the 4th time this pregnancy... 4TH!! Who does that? (hangs head in shame...)
*Belly button still hasn't popped yet...
*I've had a lot of acid reflux the past week. I mean, a lot. It's not even happening just after I eat either, it's all the time. I heard mints and chocolate can make it worse (and I've been eating them lately) so I'm cutting them out to see if it helps!
*No swelling as of now! Rings are still on!
*My platelets are being monitored as my count is a little low. They aren't doing anything about them now since they aren't too too low, but if I'm still low when I get to 36 weeks, they may put me on steroids to help get the count up (so that I'm able to get an epidural!)

Other important things to note:

*Enjoying: Let's talk about this boys movements...they have switched from little kicks here and there to full on LARGE body movements. When he moves now, it doesn't feel like it did before...they are slower, bigger and my whole stomach moves around! He is active all day long in there it seems, which makes me happy because it means he's healthy and growing!
*Disliking: The only thing I can think of is the acid reflux, which is such a small price to pay considering how far along I am and other symptoms I could be experiencing. I feel really good otherwise, and am not uncomfortable at all (yet!)
*Random happenings: Two of our biggest decisions thus far are now decided-childcare for Cam when I have to return to work (he will need 3 days of care) and our pediatrician! I feel so much less anxious now that we have those set in place, it's unbelievable. We decided to go the in-home care route vs. daycare because we found a really awesome lady who is experienced, lives one mile from my work (couldn't be more convenient!), has a very nice (and clean) home, and is very trustworthy. She came highly recommended by a few people and only had one spot open-lucky for us! Plus, she only has two other children she is taking care of, which made the decision easier because she will still be able to give him the attention that he needs. We really liked the idea of having him in a home setting when he's this young and it's great because she is willing to work with any schedule we decided to implement with him. We are really happy with both of our decisions and think they will be a great fit for us! And of course, I'm thankful and grateful that I will get time home with him during the week as well.
*The nursery is complete besides just waiting for the glider to be placed in it and I have two prints that I need to hang! I suspect the nursery reveal will be the end of this month, or early December.
*Looking forward to: Our last baby shower is this weekend in Cleveland with Billy's family! I'm really excited to spend time with his family, we haven't had the chance to see them in a while other than briefly at my other shower. Also, CROSSING OUR FINGERS that Cam cooperates with us tomorrow at our second go for the 3D ultrasound! :)

Happy hump day / bump day!

  3. Very exciting about the daycare situation. Ethan was also (and still is!) in a homecare situation and I have to agree that it is the best of both worlds. They get so much attention and you will grow so close to his nanny because of the time she spends with Camden. Very cool!

  4. Hooray for pineapples. We also are doing in home daycare and finalized ours this week and it was a huge relief. Now if I can just get my husband to work less hours/weekends so my nursery can get where yours is. Home stretch!

  7. It's amazing how the movements go from kicks and jabs to full body rolls! I am 34 weeks on Friday and it gets even more crazy. Today my belly has been completely misshapen because our little man has moved himself completely horizontal in my belly. I can feel his head and feet.

I hope you continue to feel great! I've had an easy pregnancy like you and am only now starting to feel the discomfort that we all hear about. Enjoy!

  9. BAH! For some reason I miss this stage of the pregnancy the most. Enjoy the home stretch my friend! As for the acid reflux, I had it really badly! I found that mint gum helped make it better, and so did hard ginger candy. My friend got it for me at Whole Foods and it was a miracle worker! I'm not a ginger fan so the flavor took a little getting used to, but they were worth it for sure!!

  10. Getting so close! I had horrible acid reflux and heartburn, where it would wake me up feeling like I was choking/dry heaving. I couldn't go anywhere without Tums close by. The Old Wives tale suggest that means a full head of hair, and it was most certainly true for Wyatt :) You're in the home stretch! <3

  11. In-home is definitely the way to go! They get more snuggles that way, which is so important. Your bump is adorable! :-)

  15. What a relief to have day care & the pediatrician lined up!! We are meeting with our 2nd pediatrician in a couple of weeks & so hoping it's the last one! You look great though & that is so awesome that you're not having any other symptoms other than the reflux - what a blessing!!
