Five on Friday: Friendsgiving, House Updates, Hair, Oh My...

+one

We are hosting our annual "Friendsgiving" this Sunday. This means a few things: we will be having close to TWENTY people in our house, thanksgiving foods are coming early (and twice) this year, and I need to have my stretchy leggings ready.

Last year, we had about 9 people vs. 17-18, so I'm making things a little bit more casual this year. After a hefty Target bill (but I saved 5%?), our fridge is stocked with beer and wine, ingredients to make some yummy dishes, and I've already put together some cute favors for everyone to take home with them. They are so cute and I can't wait to share them next week!

{these are the little name cards I made last year. I just hot glued fake feathers to the back of a pinecone! super easy and cute}

+two

Why didn't I think of this sooner?! Genius.

+three

 Heart elbow patches. Loving them and this sweater lately!

 +four

I am thinking about getting balayage highlights in my hair. Have you heard of this? It's similar to ombre, but not so drastic. I swear, I go back and forth with my hair weekly.

These are my inspiration pictures....
 {I am also obsessed with this whole look...}

but in all actuality, I really just want Victoria's Secret angel hair. Who can help me with this? ;)

 Sigh...don't we all?!

+five

I added some cozy, winter pillows to our family room couches this past week. They are from Target (link here, I swear I shop at other places...) and Rocky put his stamp of approval on them.

Did you see this one? Need.

Other things on the weekend agenda include painting all the trim in our upstairs (remember we finished the downstairs already? SO happy we did that and it's done!) and tonight Billy is bringing home our favorite pizza from our college town. This is especially exciting because it's 2 hours away so we can't normally get it, and it's one of the best pizza and breadsticks you will ever have (Pollyeyes for you Bowling Green, gals!)

What is on your weekend agenda?

If you are doing any online shopping, make sure you check out my 10 current fashion favorites post, if you missed it on Wednesday!

Link up for Five on Friday here.

Enjoy it and thank you {as always} for reading!

  6. I have been eyeing those pillows at Target, but I think if I bring home one more pillow Rick will kill me...ha! I have a question about painting your trim. We totally need to do this, and I am wondering, did you pull all of your trim down to paint, or are you painting it in place? Just curious the best way to do this. Any advise would be wonderful :)

  7. Target is my happy place, I can stay in there for hours! I just bought that Noel pillow for the holidays. Do you have the Cartwheel app for Target? You can save using that and your Red card. You search for items you use in the store and they scan the barcode on your phone at the register. I got an extra 10% off the pillow. Happy weekend! :)

  9. Your table for friendsgiving is really beautiful! Seems to be a good night!!
    Then I love balayage because it looks natural but can light up your face and style. It will look good on you!
    And for the pizza I did the same two years ago!! But now I live near the pizzas ;-) Easier!!

  11. I just recently went for the balayage look, and I love it. It's low maintenance, gives my brown hair more dimension, and it looks great regardless of how I wear it (curly or straight). I say go for it! :-)

    And I love your new pillow from Target -- its adorable.

  17. I love my balayage (and I've been getting it done for such a long time, because I hate* the upkeep of regular highlights) And I had ombre for a while and felt a little too 'trendy' too.

    Love the 2nd inspiration picture. I always tell my stylist "make my hair look like the VS girls" ha. No really.
