CURRENTLY, I AM...

Reading: My outrageous to-do list for this week and weekend.

Watching: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills....... kills me, absolutely kills me. For many reasons: a. Lisa Vanderpump's closet + shoe collection + dog Giggy. b. Kyle and Mauricio's daughter Portia who is seriously the cutest little girl I've ever seen. c. the drama. Obviously..isn't that why we all watch? You know it's going to get good this season, especially with the Adrienne and Paul divorce drama.

Thinking About: Our menu/the decorations for our Friendsgiving that we are hosting Sunday. So far, we've got: turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, salad, sweet potato casserole, and a variety of desserts. All the yummmmy works. I'm STARVING and it's not for another 5 days. Also, does anyone have any must-try appetizer recipes you want to share with me? I have a party on Saturday that I need to bring one and I want to do something different!

Loving: My new favorite spike necklace from Outfit Additions. I've been eyeing spike necklaces like this for a while, and was so happy when I received this one because it is so versatile and inexpensive! I have a feeling I'll be wearing it a lot with the upcoming holidays.

(they have it in silver too!)

tip: get 25% off any order of $50 or more from Outfit Additions with the code "CALM"

Looking Forward To: All of the fun things we have going on this week! You'd think that after hosting the baby shower last weekend, I'd take a break from crafting/decorating/basically just stepping away from my hot pink glue gun, but nope. No breaks over here! Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 is on Thursday evening (who is going?!), my niece's birthday party/Thanksgiving celebration on Saturday, and our Friendsgiving is on Sunday, so there is much to prepare for. Hoping it will make this week go really fast!

Wondering: Who all reads this blog. I mean, those of you that comment I've gotten to know, but those of you that don't - I wonder who you are, what you do, where do you live? So deep. ha. {keeping this same comment from my last post like this so I can hopefully hear from more of you "invisible" readers...SPEAK UP!;)}

Cooking/Baking: Ladies, do you follow Tenley Molzahn? She is that sweetie from the Bachelor who is now partnered up with the Tone It Up girls. She has her own website dedicated to health/ fitness and posts some fabulous recipes (she is gluten-free). I've been making her version of apple protein pancakes for a while and adore them. They are flour-less and much healthier than regular pancakes, but still taste great.

{I like mine a little crispy...}

Apple Protein Pancakes:
+1/4 cup egg whites
+1/2 apple, diced
+1 scoop vanilla protein powder
+1 tsp cinnamon
+1 tbsp flaxseed

Mix ingredients together and pour into a pan that has been sprayed with olive oil cooking-spray on medium heat. Cook like a pancake! Top with agave instead of syrup.

Disliking: how late I've been getting to bed lately. I think an 8 pm bedtime is in my near future...

Making Me Happy: all of the above-that Billy is home from Florida-Rocky snuggles and the playdate he had this past weekend with our friends Pom-girl time-and midnight blue nails.

Wishing you and reminding you: a happy day and to enter my $100 Visa Gift Card giveaway if you haven't done so yet!

  13. I admire you for all your clean eating. I want to eat better to match how much I work out but life just gets so busy all the time. I have a 16 month old and sometimes I just don't have the time to figure out healthier versions of food. I just go for the recipes I know and have on hand. Plus, I love, love Mountain Dew and haven't found a good way to give it up forever. I just love the taste. Anyways, just wanted to know if you have always ate healthy or if you worked towards it and how.

  37. I'm gonna call myself an infrequent commenter but daily reader. ;) I've left a few comments before but never with any info about myself. Well, at least that I can recall. The memory is unfortunately not what it used to be and by the end of the day? Forget about it! At any rate, I'm Shannon, I live just outside of Charlotte, NC and I'm an after school admin. Fascinating right?? Love the blog, keep up the fantastic work and I'll try to be better about the commenting, haha!
