ROLL out.

It's that time ~
time for me to get a new car!

I always wonder what people drive here in the blog world {nosey? maybe..} so feel free to share what you roll in day in and day out :)

As for me, I drive a 07' Chevy Equinox.

{this is the exact one I drive right now}

I've always been an SUV kinda girl. I get car sick in small cars when I'm in them for longer periods of time, so I've never been one to fancy them. I like that feeling of being "higher up" on the road while driving...makes me feel more safe too. My first car was a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee that my parents got me for when I turned 16. I always knew I wanted that car and I'm still a JEEP kinda gal. Love. love. love Jeeps.

Anywho, my beloved Equinox is getting older and I hate racking up lots of miles just to spend a ton of money in repairs so I'm thinking it's time for a new baby. I've narrowed it down to these 2 choices and need your help to make the best decision:

a.) Get a 2012 Equinox ~

My thinking on this is that I have loved driving it over the years and it is AMAZING on gas, so why not just get another one? I'd switch up the color and bam, I'd be set. I'm thinking either white or red. Besides, with this economy and gas prices...it would make the most sense cost wise to go for this choice.

OR...

b.) Go after my pride and joy the 2010 or 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee ~

I've missed driving a Jeep ever since I had to say goodbye to my last one. It would cost more AND obviously Jeeps suck with mileage, but it's like my baby. I just love them. Do I NEED it is the question here? Would I regret not getting it?

Help me out here chickadees.

Which one should I get?!

Any other similar SUV's I may like that you would recommend to me?

Oh, and did you notice I haven't done a weekend wrap up?
I will have that tomorrow because I forgot to upload my pictures this morning. Despite the Buckeyes absolutely choking, I had amazing time partying with Billy and friends during the game. Will share with ya'll tomorrow but here's one pic of me and my best friend Lindsay {who is the Michigan fan but loves partying with us OSU style!}  :)

.....can you see my red feather extension?!

PS-Only 7 more *friends* {aka readers} until I reach 450 and will be hosting an AWESOME AWESOME giveaway!  lehhh go. ;)

How was your weekend?!

  1. I drive a TrailBlazer. After being in an accident and totaling my GrandAm, we decided an SUV would be safer...I will always have an SUV now!

  5. I drive a 2011 Ford Escape. I was really surprised by the amount of head and leg space it has (since I am 5'9 and Josh is 6'4) and it looks nothing like the older Escapes. Best part though? The "Sync" system which syncs my phone to my car so I can talk to people without holding my phone, it reads my texts to me and it also plays my music through Bluetooth. My husband as an '07 four door Jeep Wrangler and it is his baby. Love me a jeep too.

  6. PS, I totally started signing Ludacris' "Roll Out" when I saw the title of this post, and it is now stuck in my head.

  7. For SURE go for the Jeep Grand Cherokee! We test drove them late last year and they are just a totally new car...so luxurious and the new body style is awesome. I drive an Acura MDX...but LOVE the JGC!

  8. love the equinox..I could never really see myself driving an suv (because I'm so petite) but I've driven a friends equinox and loved it! I drive a bmw convertible

  9. I am so with you on the Jeep!!! I had one, and we had to get rid of it. But every time I see one, I tell hubs I need it again :) I loved driving it. I loved the SUV. I loved everything about it. Mine was an 04 and black, but seriously I would have driven it till it died. We got rid of it last year :( i miss it!!! a lot :)

  10. I drive a Nissan Altima but plan on upgrading to the Murano (SUV) within a few years. Cam's family owns a Nissan dealership here in Charleston so I'm pretty sure I'll be driving Nissan's for the rest of my life. :)
I've ALWAYS been a fan of Jeeps so I vote for the Grand Cherokee!

  11. I drive an '09 Nissan Altima - I wanted an SUV and drove the '10 Cherokee. Maaaaaybe it was the one I drove, but it was really rough on the road, and had NO turn radius whatsoever. It's probably a Jeep thing - and I wouldn't understand ;)

I've ALWAYS been a Cherokee lover though - it's a hard choice. That new Equinox is awesome.

Have you looked at Nissan Muranos? Or an Acura RDX? Good luck with the car salesmen! Can't wait to see what you get! (I'm nosey..who isnt?!)

  12. My vote would be the 2011 equinox! I loooove the new jeeps, but I'd have to pick the more fuel efficient of the two. I drive a truck and paying for gas for it BLOWSSS!!

I'm hoping to get a new car soon too! And I've got my eyes on the 2011 equinox or the 2011 GMC terrain! :)

  13. I say go for the JEEP! I drive one since my college town just loves to snow from about oct/nov to april! I absolutely love my jeep but I think after college I may go to a smaller car... that is better on gas mileage!

  14. Those are the two cars that I'm debating over! I love, love, love my Jeep but there is something that I just love about the new Equinox! Plus, like you pointed out, the gas mileage of the Equinox is so much better than the Jeep!!

  15. Go for the Jeep!

I drive a Scion tC but when we decide to have kids, we will get a Toyota Highlander or GMC Terrain

  16. Jeep!!!! Go Bucks!!! I miss you!! I've been a bad blog friend! You look hot!

  17. I drive a Nissan Pathfinder, I love all the room it has but I plan on downsizing with my next purchase. Gas is $1 higher than this time last year and it will only increase so I say be economical :)

  18. We must be on the same wavelength. I have a post scheduled tomorrow about me getting a new car. I have had the same car for about 10 years now---2002 chevy cavalier. I am planning on getting a VW Jetta.

  19. Totally in love with my Ford Edge.

  20. I say go for the Jeep. I love the new look of it. I used to drive a Tahoe but now have an Acura TSX. The gas mileage is incredible! I really didn't need something that big with it just being me. Once it is time to start a family though I will probably go back to an SUV.

  21. I love Jeeps! Right now I drive a Honda Pilot, which I love. I need a big SUV for work, so I couldn't go with just a two row car. I do LOVE Nissan Muranos though and as soon as I don't need this car for work, I will be getting one. I love them!

  22. I just got a brand new, metallic gray (would pair great with red for OSU gamedays!!) 2012 Ford Escape. I love it. I got rid of my baby - a black 2008 Mazda 3 (yes, I cried when I traded it in) - but I'm happy as a clam in my Escape (though hubby is quite jealous and threatens to steal it every time he drives it). It's great on gas mileage if you're looking for an economical SUV. Got ours at Kreiger Ford on Morse Road. Jerry Brown is the best there!

I do like the Equinox though - and Shawn toyed with the idea of getting Jeep. Good luck and can't wait to see what you pick!

  23. I don't drive, but I love Jeeps. When I had a permit I got to drive my step-mom's jeep. It was super nice.

  24. We drive a Pontiac G6 coupe (my pre-husband car), and a Chevy HHR. I LOOOOVE the HHR. It drives like a car, but is higher up than a normal car so it's like the best of both world. Love love love that car.

  25. I vote Jeep. You guy s are DINKS (translation? dual income, no kids) so you can afford a little extra! I drive a Toyota Sequoia. I love my car, but it's massive, which I nesd with three kiddos.

  26. I've always loved the look of Grand Cherokees and have never been inside an Equinox so I don't have much expertise there. All I know, being a Honda Civic driver/lover, is that gas mileage is HUGE to me. Sooo, it's a toss-up. If the cost for the Jeep and gas isn't going to break the bank and you REALLY want it, I don't think it would be a BAD decision, just not the most cost-efficient that's all. Up to you my dear :)

  27. We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and love it but it is killing us on gas! The good thing about Jeeps is that they hold their value, so it doesn't hurt you in the long run...so I say go for it!

  28. found this on Yahoo today Ironically... http://autos.yahoo.com/news/12-red-hot-suvs.html

I have a car so not good person of judgement for this!!

Had a blast this weekend, Can't wait for more F-U-N!

  29. I love Jeeps too- the Grand Cherokee is a really great looking car! I have to agree though... they're awful on gas mileage! Chelsea's totally right about Honda's- they are amazing on gas! Seriously a huge perk. But, the Jeep is definitely a nice ride :) Haha, this did NOT help at all. I'm just as indecisive!!!

  30. When we were looking for our last car, I really wanted a truck or an SUV. The Chevy Avelanch and the Equinox were up in our choices.

We don't like the feel of the Jeeps and I hate the gas milage they get. I'm currently driving a 2010 Camaro SS (V8) and it gets better gas milage than my brother in laws 2009 Cherokee... SOOO I'm going to say go with the Equinox. :-)

  31. My Grandpa just bought a 2011 Equinox 2LT and I LOVE it! If we could afford one I'd buy it in a heartbeat :)

  32. I drive a Toyota Sienna. Even though my kids are 11 and 14 I still really feel like I need a mini-van. I am your latest follower. Just found your blog and I love it.

  33. One of my girlfriends just recently bought a brand new Equinox and she loves it!

As for me, I drive a blue Acura CL (2003)...I love it, but I'm ready for something new!

p.s. Where is that scarf from in the last pic?! Love it!

  34. i just bought a car and my dad gave me some awesome advice...he said "you're paying all that money....you should get what you love."

so which one do you love? whatever came to your mind first....go with that one!

oh, and you win cutest tailgater of the world! the end!

  35. I like both! I also like the Nissan Murano! I want an SUV and that is what I am looking at! I have time though! I have a Jetta now that is only a year old.

  36. Well... I drive a Beetle, so that's not likely to help you much. It's like the epitome of a small car. But, I did drive a hyndai tuscan for a few years {before some lady crashed into me} and I love love loved it. My hubby works at a jeep dealer and he always has good things to say about them. :) best of luck!

  37. I have had two Jeep Grand Cherokees and loved driving them both.. one is high school and then another one in college. I have a car now and miss an SUV big time but Chris is getting ready to get a new Yukon or Denali or whatever they are called so maybe I will steal his :) lol They both look nice I don't think you will go wrong with either!! Congrats! Can't wait to see pics!!

  38. I know you are a jeep girl, and had a jeep first when you were younger, and I know jeeps have come a long way, however if you do the research on them, they are NOTORIOUS for having COSTY repairs when they are not even that old of a car.

I'd opt for a newer version of what you have, although I have to say I think you are crazy for calling a car that's only what 4 years old OLD???? eeeek

    ReplyDelete
  39. Definitely the Jeep. I'm OBSESSED with those right now! Too bad I just got a new car in July..

    I'll live vicariously through you!

  40. Ahhhh, decisions, decisions!! My hubby has a Jeep and LOVES it! I say go for the better gas mileage, though. Haha. Either way will be fabulous!

  41. I'm such a Jeep girl! I drove a 1999 Grand Cherokee through high school and college (that my younger brother still drives to park on campus) and now I drive a 2010 Grand Cherokee Limited almost exactly like the one pictured. I love it so much! Totally worth every cent I spend in gas. My only advice would be to skip the Hemi option if you're really worried about gas mileage. The power is amazing but it definitely impacts the mileage. Can't wait to see what you get!

    ReplyDelete
  42. i love jeep grand cherokees, but i don't know much about the equinox! i have been trying to decide on a new car too, but gas is a big deal to me -- so in my opinion which ever has better gas mileage is a good choice. but then again do you see yourself with that car in 5-10 years {how ever long you decide to keep it} good luck with the car hunting!

    ReplyDelete
  43. A new car is SUPER exciting!!! I would vote for....the Jeep. It's a car and you probably won't have it forever so get what you love!
