On The Streets of NYC

{my boys}

Last night Billy and I had a date night that consisted of just hanging out together at our home. I can't tell you how refreshing it was just to relax together and not have anything to do. Summer has been so busy for us lately...I play soccer on Monday nights and volleyball on Thursday nights and he refs hockey various nights during the week so it's sometimes hard to get in a good relaxing night together.

We really enjoy exercising together so I decided to take one for the team and run in the 100% humidity while he rode my bike (he has been going back and forth between what model of a bike he wants to buy for like a year now) WHILE holding Rocky. Rocky hates being left out and one of his favorite things is for Billy to hold him while riding a bike. It's seriously one of the cutest things to see. Note to self: must get a picture of it soon. I had a hard time running in the extreme heat, but really enjoyed having my 2 boys next to me.

Anyways, we made a scrumptious dinner after (he had steak tacos while I had fish) and then decided to watch the Adjustment Bureau.

I was excited to see this movie for a certain reason. If you've been following my blog for a bit, then you know of my love for NYC. But for the newbies..let me just clarify: I freakin' love NYC and wish I could live there. We went there for my Bachelorette party (1 out of 2..oops) last summer with my closest girlfriends from high school and had a blast. Well, one day we were in the city when we turned the corner and literally ran into this movie being filmed!

There was Matt Damon and Emily Blunt on the street corner right in front of us.

Like the creep I am, I immediately grabbed into my bag and got my camera {clearly both the cell phone and digi cam.} It was so cool to watch them filming the movie and to this day, I swear that Matt Damon and I locked eyes.

I thought I'd include some pictures from that day and from our time in NYC, so I can take a little trip down memory lane. One of my most favorite things about NYC are all the unexpected things that can happen...ALL of the possibilities...

PS-If you've seen this movie--the scene we saw them filming is when him and Emily are running at the end of the movie from the bureau and they are going through all the doors.

{Emily is in the dress and Matt Damon is next to her in the white shirt}

Of course I had to get one of his butt.

pretty cool, huh?

I can't wait to go back!

Tell me..

What is your favorite thing about NYC?

Do you love to visit there like I do?

  3. Aww, I love trips down memory lane. I think I might have to do a post like this soon! SO cool that you saw them filming Adjustment Bureau! That's one of my favorite scenes from the movie.

    Geez, you'd think it would be hard for them to film all these movies in the middle of big cities when all everyone wants to do is take pictures, haha. NYC is fun to visit but I just don't think I could ever live there! You all had a beautiful view of the city :)

  12. That is so cool that you got to see them filming that movie! Right place at the right time. What I love most about NYC is The bridge in Central Park because that is where Jeremy proposed to me. I was facing The Plaza and it was just perfection. I also love the restaurant Rosa Mexicano. I remember they had the freshest margaritas and made guacamole at your table to which they added pomegranate seeds. Gorgeous!

    That's crazy you saw Matt and Emily! Gotta keep that celeb radar on whenever you go to the city... Last time I went, I got Letterman tickets for free on the street for answering a trivia question. Never a dull NYC minute! :)

  24. I love, love NYC even though I've only been there once. I absolutely cannot wait to go back. My favorite parts were the Literary Walk in Central Park and we waited until the evening to go to the Empire State Building b/c we heard the wait time was less then. We still had to wait just a little while but the view of the entire city lit up at night was amazing!

    BTW, I'm the one who e-mailed you a couple wks ago thanking you for the inspiration to restart my blog so I'm working on it...:)
