Native Cold Pressed

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

This one is for all my local readers and I'm pretty excited to share about it....

There is now a place here in Columbus where you can get 100% raw, organic juices! Enter Native Cold Pressed, which is located down on North High Street. What's it all about you ask?! Well, they use locally sourced ingredients to create you a delicious raw juice that is always served in a glass bottle. Each bottle consists of roughly 3 pounds of produce and is loaded with nutrients! The owners, Nicole and Erin, can even help you pick out a cleanse if you're interested in more than just one juice. They have beginner cleanses for those who are newer to the juicing lifestyle and also more experienced cleanses. You can even create a custom cleanse, too.

I just recently tried the green grapefruit + the pear ginger juices (you can see the menu here) and loved them. The pear + ginger was very mild so if you don't like a drink that is too bold, this would be a good one for you to try. I liked the green grapefruit the best though out of the two because of all the yummy vegetables in it! I drank them for breakfast and felt like I could take on the world the rest of the day... ;) It's safe to say I will be a frequent visitor of Native because let's be honest, sometimes you don't want to get that mess at home, or maybe you don't have all the produce you need on hand, and you just want to pick one up that's already prepared and ready to drink. That's how I am sometimes, at least!

Make sure you give Native Cold Pressed a visit! You won't be sorry! (and your body will thank you...)

Do you have a raw juice company in your city? If you haven't looked, it wouldn't hurt to search for one!

Looking For The Good

Surround yourself with people who will cheer on your dreams, people who see the best in you even when you don’t always see it yourself. Turn out the “naysayers” and tune in to the “yea-sayers!”

It's seems like I've been seeing this quote everywhere lately. I tend to read into things like that, when you are constantly being reminded of something over and over, especially since this is one of the things I've tried focusing more on in the past year. I really feel as though things have shifted...instead of looking for the good in people and rooting for them, people are so quick to point out the bad. Or what people do wrong.

If you know me in real life, you'd know I wear my heart on my sleeve and if I'm sad about something, you probably know it. I genuinely care a lot about the people in my life. Sometimes to a fault. As a friend, I get so concerned and worked up if I hurt one of my girlfriends feelings, or if they're going through a difficult time (even other bloggers whom I've never met). You know when you read into things way too much and it consumes your mind? That kind of thing. That's not to say I don't ever speak up if something is bothering me, because I definitely do, but I care just too much sometimes. I'm sure most of this stems from my Mom's passing because I'm constantly scared about losing people. Or taking someone for granted.

In our world today, now more than ever, we need focus on the positive in people and what they do right. Stop competing with each other, but instead support them with their successes and let them inspire you. Surround yourself with people who make you want to be better and motivate you to cross those things off your bucket list! I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, but it's just been something that's been on my mind. It's a heck of a lot easier to point out everyone's flaws, but how does that make you feel afterwards? It takes more effort and character to acknowledge the good that people do.

Just something to think about...

Instead of bashing what you hate, promote what you love.

And after all that-Happy Cinco de Mayo! I can't wait to chow down on some of my favorite mexican food this week. Guacamole, fajitas, chips and salsa...well, they just speak to my heart and I wouldn't miss an opportunity to let this special day go to waste. ;)

How was everyone's weekend? We had an amazing time in Cleveland. Truly one for the books! The West Side Market was even more awesome than I was expecting (came home with corn on the cob, green beans, sausages and beef jerky for Billy, and snacked our way through the entire thing!) We got dinner at an Italian restaurant on Saturday night called D'Agnese's, which was absolutely amazing! Billy got some golf in with his family and probably the best part of the weekend was dressing up Billy's grandma, who is the sweetest woman in the world, as a "bride" with toilet paper during a bridal shower game for Billy's cousins fiance. She was such a good sport!

I mean, how can this not make you smile? I tried uploading this to my Insta last night (I admit I took like 20 pics of her dressed up like this-too cute!) but my account kept erroring and not showing my pictures in my feed or on my page! A "bouquet" made out of broccoli florets and hamburger buns for boobs! She even had a blue garter on..compliments of a napkin. :)

I'll be back tomorrow to share about a new juice company I'm loving!

Have a good Monday, friends.

PS-If you need a good mexican inspired dip recipe, this one is my absolute favorite. Might need to make this tonight. OK, no, I definitely need to make this tonight...

Friday Favorites

 I am really digging the weeks that go by extremely fast and Friday's that start off on amazing notes! These are welcome anytime.

We are heading up to Cleveland tonight to see Billy's family and for a family bridal shower. I haven't seen Billy's family in a while so I'm excited to hang out with them for the weekend and explore some new areas in Cleveland (Billy is taking me to the West Side Market for the first time for all you Clevelanders...)

Time for Five on Friday...

{ONE}

Sometimes it's funny how things work out. Billy and I have spent the past two months going back and forth between what type of new grill we wanted to buy (we were going back and forth between two different models), and once we finally narrowed it down to the one we wanted I started talking to my Dad about it and he offered to give us their grill! It's too big for their space and he was wanting to buy a smaller one, so last night my parents kindly gave us their amazing Jenn Air grill. So thankful for them! $800 still in our pockets and if it wasn't for the fact that we got home well after dark with it last night, Billy would've already been putting that bad boy to use!

Next week, it's going down.

{TWO}

Have you seen this "12 Dreamy Back Yard Ideas" article? Hello, gorgeous! Who wouldn't want a movie theater setting in their backyard? This is totally not helping my desire to go all out on a new set of furniture for our deck....

{THREE}

I'm wanting to spruce up our guest bedroom with new frames and decor. I love this set of frames and may have to copy it and make my own...I mean, the wifi password thing-why didn't I think of this?

{FOUR}

I've turned guacamole obsessed recently (my body must know Cinco de Mayo is approaching!). It's like I'm craving it daily and somehow my favorite recipe for it keeps popping up on my iPhone when I'm in the kitchen...

{if you haven't tried this recipe yet I'm holding a grudge until you do!}

{FIVE}

Loving this cute mint skirt right now!

Our temps have cooled down a bit so I haven't got a chance to wear it yet, but this will be a summer staple. I'm planning on pairing it with this wifey shirt to dress it down a bit!

What are you loving this week?

PS: The Bib Jewelry giveaway has ended, but you can get 10% off with the code "CARRYON10", which is valid until May 9th!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend :)

Top Summer Shades!

Good ole month of MAY...this girl is so happy you are {finally} here!

May is my favorite favorite favorite month out of the year and just so happens to be my birthday month (the 25th!) too, but that's not really the main reason why. Promise! I mean, it's the start of the most gorgeous summer weather, the pools open, and Memorial Day weekend there is always something fun happening. All wonderful things in my book! I'm pretty sure this year will be no different...

It always means prime mani + pedi time, too. For me this means actually keeping up with getting pedicures and bright, bold polish on my hands! In fact, you'll rarely see me in a light shade in the summer...it just doesn't happen. I tend to reach for the shades that are fun and makes a statement!

I've rounded up a list of all of my tried and true favorites for summer that you simply can't go wrong rockin' this summer!

Top Summer Shades

+Essie - Romper Room (actually in the spring collection but had to include it for those who love the light shades..it's gorgeous on!)
+Essie - Chastity (this one is much more pretty than the picture shows. It pulls shades of purple and is so pretty in the sun!)
+China Glaze - Neon and On and On (looking for an awesome pink neon? this is it! currently on my toes in the picture below)
+Essie - Haute as Hello
+OPI - Cajun Shrimp (oldie but is a safe pick)
+Deborah Lippmann - Manic
+Essie - Mint Candy Apple (this is actually more blue than pictured-probably my fav right now!)
+Deborah Lippmann - Brilliant Aqua
+Essie - Butler Please (still obsessed with this one from wearing it all the time last year)

And here are some pictures of me wearing some of these colors so that you get a better idea of how they look on...

To my fellow nail polish lovers (I know you're out there!)...

What are your favorite summer shades?! I love finding new ones to add to the never.ending.collection...
