Birthday Surprises {Happy Birthday Husband}

Internet problems on a Monday morning = should never be allowed to happen. Especially when said Monday morning is my lovely husbands birthday!

This weekend we...
+celebrated at a Japanese steakhouse
+celebrated with a big breakfast made by moi Saturday morning (and he came downstairs to a bunch of balloons with love notes tied on them..big thanks to Pinterest for telling me that double-sided tape would get them to stick to the ceiling. Nope...#Pinterestfail)

+had a surprise winery tour and tastings with our best friends!

Back story: I told Billy I had made plans for us Saturday afternoon and evening, but he had no idea what we were doing and who with. He guessed just about everything under the sun (and it WAS out Saturday..), but never guessed what I had planned. I wanted to have a surprise party for him with his best friends (without the actual big "party" part since he said at one point he didn't want that), so I thought a relaxing day at a winery we have been wanting to go to with a dinner afterwards would be the perfect thing.

A couple weekends ago, I asked Billy's best friend Cory and his wife to come down for the day from Cleveland (about two hours away) to surprise him at the winery we were going to, then afterwards we would get dinner with all our friends (because some couldn't make it to the actual tasting.) We were sitting together tasting some wine when Cory and his wife walked in and he was so surprised and happy to see them!

Later that night, he was surprised again with all our friends showing up at dinner. There was about 11 of us and we ate, drank, sang happy birthday, dominated a delicious cake (that I forgot to take pictures of)....I'd say it was a big success! Smiles on Billy's face = happy wife who pulled off a big surprise...

+And on Sunday we celebrated again with a shopping trip and I made him my Mom's lasagna recipe for dinner, which is his favorite.

Birthday's should be every weekend. And the best part? It's not over yet. More surprises for him are still on their way...

Happy, happy 29ISH birthday husband (and to my awesome sister-in-law, Jackie! We love you!) Each year you get more and more handsome and I enjoy everyday spent with you that much more-those are two things I know for sure! Thank you for being my rock. my protector. and my best friend. You mean the world to me and I'm so lucky to have you in my life. But no, I will not tell you what is still on the way, so stop asking. Mwah! :)

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

  13. I'm so glad I saw your pin about the balloons this weekend! I wanted to do the same thing for my Oscar party with fun facts about the Oscars, but when I added the cards to the strings, it weighed down the balloons (I got helium balloons), but I was able to roll up packaging tape and tape them to the ceiling. That's a bummer it didn't work for you...I wonder if the helium was the key?
