HOW TO SPOT A BLOGGER

The other day, Billy and I were at Target when he said, "that girl looks like a blogger."
Haha! Whaaaat?! That was the first time I heard him say something like that.

After looking at him and laughing, I started to think about what exactly he meant by that.
What does a Blogger "look" like? Where did that come from?
Here's what I came up with.

How to spot a blogger:

1. She wears trendy clothing (this is how Billy described the girl we saw). She has good fashion sense and is usually spotted wearing 4 or 5 bracelets at once, in which she calls her "arm candy". She probably has some type of monogram on her.

2. She may resemble a tourist. She carries multiple cameras and has to get the same picture with each.

3. She may be spotted taking pictures of cute items in a store, her food (good lord! Don't even think about taking a bite without getting a picture first!), herself, her outfit, or that Starbucks cup she is always carrying around.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, is off limits for a good instagram or twit pic.

4. "It's for the blog" or "this will be good blog material" are two phrases you'll hear her say often.

5. She is often looking down on her phone checking social media, emails, or the latest instagram feed.

6. She's a girl on a mission. She looks like she knows exactly what she wants in a store, and gets in and out (sometimes). This is typically from seeing a picture of a specific item on a blog that she decided she must have.

7. She keeps a tripod in her trunk.
{more specifically for the fashion, or I guess travel, bloggers}

8. She may be noticed by yelling obscenities at the register when checking out because her bill is never under $50. *Oh, is this one just me? or all girls? I'm going to go with all girls.

So, are you any of the above?
If you have anything extra to add to this list,
leave it in the comments below so we can all enjoy it and laugh (at ourselves).

Post inspired by: My husband. that gem.
But, it's for the blog babe.

*Lastly-PS. I Adore You is a darling flash sale store (just recently opened) that is focused around raising awareness for childhood cancer. The website not only raises awareness for these cancer kids, but they feature a cancer kiddo and their family each month and donate, collect, and gather samples for this family and deliver it to them.

  13. This is funny! Except for the trendy part. I can be seen in a t-shirt and jeans pretty much every single day, but it's not uncommon for me to pull out my DSLR at a meal if dinner is pretty ;)

  15. this is so true! my boyfriend says the same thing (usually in target) when we see a girl who is clearly dressed for her blog and not for her everyday life. arm parties and camera hoarding are two of the blogger trends i haven't gotten behind, but that's only for the sake of my bank account.

I can add one, her husband or BF gets annoyed that she has to take a picture of his meal as well when all he wants to do is eat!

  24. We can all laugh at this because it's SO TRUE!

I think I can speak for the mommy bloggers on this one: You know you're a mommy blogger when you post an updated instagram pic of your Elf on the Shelf's location DAILY ;) I'm not there yet, but I have no doubt that I will be next Christmas! Haha

    ReplyDelete
  25. She is constantly forcing her husband to take pictures of her outfits or pictures with her so she can Instagram them.

And after looking our Christmas cards I am so guilty of this...I have a polka dot sweater on with the bubble necklace and the outline of the card is chevron. Blogger influence much??

  26. haha, just so true. especially the checking of the phone obsessively ;)

  27. HAHA this post cracked me up.. I couldn't stop reading!

  28. That's really funny. Way to go Billy! I actually don't do any of that. Am I bad female or something?! Maybe I'm just not a real blogger? Or maybe because I'm a food blogger and not fashion blogger. ;) I dress the same way I would any day and don't wear excessive jewelry. I have one camera, but it's a mac daddy one, so maybe I only need one. I don't carry it around everywhere. And, people usually say to me "Oh, get a picture, this will be great on the blog" and I usually think "I don't even know if I'm going to blog about this! Actually, I probably won't". Oh, number 6 is totally true about me though.

  31. Taking pictures of your feet (and outfit) in public is a dead giveaway! But it's too hard to resist on a beach, or dock, or on the cobblestone the Louvre in Paris, or on church tiles, or in the city, or when it's raining, or snowing, or there are leaves on the ground,or when your just wearing cute shoes, or slippers... so yea every. single. day. :)

  32. Absolutely love this post! It describes me perfectly and I am just a beginner blogger.

  33. LOVE THIS!! I was out to dinner with my husband the other night, and a couple walking in and I immediately said "she's got to be a blogger." She had a sock bun, bubble necklace, and leopard flats! haha

  50. If ever I have wished there was a "like" button by comments...it is today. So many things I want to "like" hahah

  51. If you have ever used the word "haul" while shopping, you might be a blogger.

If the back of your hand is covered in swatches while milling around in Sephora, Ulta or the Nordstrom Beauty Dept, odds are high that you're a blogger.

If you know more than 10 ways to tie a scarf, you're probably a blogger.

If you lose your mind every year when Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back in season or when the red holiday cups are back, you might be a blogger.

If you're wearing anything that was purchased from Etsy, it's highly likely that you're a blogger.

If you paint your nails with an "accent" or "statement" nail, there's a chance that you're a blogger or a good friend of one.

:) This was fun! It's so true...we're so easy to pick out of a crowd!! We're guilty of them all!

    We love our blogger ladies!!
