BEAUTY FAVES: HAIR CARE

beauty faves

I've realized lately that I've become a little bit of a shampoo and conditioner hoarder. I like having different ones to pick from in the shower and am always switching them up! I'm interested..am I the only one that does this? Do you stick with one brand or have multiples? With that being said, all of the above shampoos and conditioners are my absolute favorites to keep in my rotation.

Pureology Anti Fade Hydrate: This one has my favorite smell. It's clean, light, and refreshing. It helps your color from fading (no sulfates or salts), and my hair feels so healthy and strong when I use this.

VO5 Clarifying: I was told to use a clarifying shampoo only once a week and that's what I do with VO5's. A clarifying shampoo is important because it removes build-up. VO5's is a whopping .79 cents, found at your local Walgreens, Walmart, etc. I was shocked how much I love this because of the price...this one is worth trying if you use a clarifying shampoo!

Joico K-pak Reconstruct: Ah, one of my favorite brands - Joico! I love most of their shampoos and conditioners. This shampoo begins the reconstruction process and is enriched with Keratin complex. My hair feels so much stronger after I use this. Great product.

Suave Keratin Infusion Smoothing: Another affordable winning combination here! I love this stuff and it's only $3.50. Since I have long hair, it's important to find something that can tame my tresses (those frizzies too!) and help smooth it out. This does that without drying out my hair.

Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Total Care: My hair always feels so soft and easier to manage when using this. It gently cleanses your hair and is good on all hair types. They have this in 'damage control' which is great for me to use in the winter when my hair feels dry.

Joico Body Luxe: Another Joico product that I love. This is a thickening shampoo! If you want some body or have thin hair...give this a try.

L'Oreal Ever Pure Smooth: The product I've used the longest on this list and still love. It is inexpensive and it's sulfate and salt free. It helps tame frizz for a sheen, shiny look while also protecting your color from fading. Also protects from humidity and smells WONDERFUL!

As far as leave-in treatments go...I swear by one and only one.

It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin
This product (and this whole line) I can't say enough good things about.
I use this product after I shower on towel dried hair. I let it sit in my hair for a bit and then comb it through.
It does 10 things instantly (get it? It's a "10"? so clever haha), but the ones I notice the most from using this are: replaces lost protein, protects the natural keratin in hair, protects against heat, detangles, defrizzes a & adds shine, and seals cuticles for extra silky hair.

What are you favorite products/hair care brands to use?
What ones am I missing, or should I add to my list to try?

*I would recommend buying the Joico and Pureology products from an authorized retailer so you know you are getting the real deal.

Be back tomorrow for another round of Saw It. Pinned It. Did It!
....and hint: Guess who's going to be busy making 11 dozen cookies?

This girl.
Wish me luck!

PS-Truly loved, and laughed a lot, at the comments from "How To Spot A Blogger" yesterday.
Thanks for that. :)

  6. I love Joico too! My hair girl was putting it on my hair when I finally got back to my natural blonde color and to keep the brassiness out I use the purple one. My favorite conditioner is Aussie but I think it is because it smells so good, I also use it as shaving cream because it is so smooth!!

  8. I do rotate shampoo and conditioners, but I only use 2 different products: Treseme and Garnier Fructis. I like using Garnier Fructis Extra Norishing Cream Nutrition Conditioner once or twice a week bc I have dry hair. But, I might have to try these out! I LOVE It's a 10 too! My favorite hair product!

  10. I read in Cosmo once that it's actually better for your hair to switch up your shampoo/conditioner every few months. I buy a different type every time I'm out, but I usually stick with the same 5-10 depending on the weather (like I'll use the Pantene Ice in the winter months a lot). So I'm all for rotating!

  17. This is interesting. I was reading somewhere else recently that it's a good idea to switch them up. That would have never occurred to me. I'm always trying to be good to my budget and not buy anything new until the old runs out, but I guess as long as they're all getting used, it's not a waste. And, I'm a sucker for a new smell!

  18. I personally love the Nexxus Pro Mend line... I recently grew out my pixie cut over the past year and a half and was having a huge problem with split ends, this corrected that problem... I last had a trim 6 weeks ago and my ends still look freshly cut ;) I really enjoyed reading your reviews on your favorite products as well!

  19. I used to actually use "cheap" shampoo: Herbal Essences, Dove, and Garnier. But once I started working at a beauty company and tried their high end shampoo I was hooked! I've been living off of the samples I got when I worked there, even though I don't work there anymore. I also tried Living Proof, which I am totally in love with!! I'm trying to grow my hair out... I LOVE your hair!

  20. I really love the Organix Moroccan Argan Shampoo. I swear my hair is getting thicker, and I'm almost certain it's not my imagination!

  22. This is exactly what I am posting about tomorrow on my blog! I have four shampoos on rotation in my shower. Have you tried Frederic Fekkai? It's really wonderful. Thanks for sharing your picks!

  23. I am using all products by Kenra at the moment but I have been wanting to try the "Its a 10" products for awhile now. I think you motivated me to step into that aisle the next time I walk into my beauty brands store :) Thanks for the tips! Have a wonderful week!

  24. Hey girl! I love me some haircare products, so here goes...

My current shampoo & conditioner is the Garnier Fall Fight (which I have NOT noticed has helped with my shedding...boo), I'm obsessed with Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle but also love Pantene's 2 Minute Moisture Mask. Frederic Fekkai's Brilliant Glossing line is my "splurge" (you can get a $25 kit at Target that includes their shampoo, conditioner and a glossing cream in a deluxe trial size).

I've heard really great things about the Suave Keratin line (my blog partner-in-crime & BFF, Jayme) swears by it, so I think I'll be trying that next since I like to switch it up a lot with my hair products.

As for "finishing" products, I am all about Moroccan Oil (just on my ends) and Aveda. I use the Aveda Smooth Infusion line for a prepping cream and a straightening balm. And Aveda's Air Control Hairspray (the lightest hairspray ever, which I lovvvve) is also amazing and smells fantabulous!!

That's my two cents. I hope you have a great day!!
