WEEKEND FIT FOR A QUEEN

I swear I am under this pile of hair somewhere...
good look, no?

Everyone loves a good photobooth...
(with my best friend Lindsay's family)

This past weekend my girlfriend Genna officially tied the knot and made herself a Queen. Literally. Queen is her new last name (how cool is that?) and I think it's pretty fitting for her, am I right? I've been friends with Genna since high school (10+ years-whoa I'm old) and I felt so blessed and honored to be a bridesmaid in her wedding! The day was so easy going leading up until the ceremony + reception, and then all of us broke loose when we surprised the bride and groom with a flash mob to the Gangnam Style video.

Here's how it went down: The bride's brother sent out a private facebook message asking 30+ of us to learn the moves from the dance and that we would all get up after the groom's dance with his mother when the DJ started playing the song. Black sunglasses were strategically placed under the wedding tables for whoever wanted to participate and we all went up on stage and started dancing... the bride and groom had no idea and it was PRICELESS. Still waiting on a good video of this to share, but if you aren't familiar with this dance I suggest You Tubing it. Equal parts of cheesy + funny.

Congratulations to my sweet friend Genna and her husband Justin! You looked beautiful, Genna.

The rest of my weekend was spent watching my Buckeyes dominate Nebraska at home for our night game (NINE TOUCHDOWNS!) Billy's brother and cousin were in town, including my cousin Natasha, so we had a blast partying down on campus for this game. Sunday was spent wondering where the heck the rest of my weekend went and snuggling up on the couch....WITH OUR HEAT on. Yep, it hit 40 degrees this morning but I can't say that I'm hating it (yet).

those waffles up there? Pumpin spice. Yum in the tum.

How was your weekend?
Does anyone else have the heat on in their house? come on, make me feel better about this. ;)

  3. I haven't turned my heat on yet but believe we if it was cold I would! My apartment tends to stay pretty warm. Don't feel bad - why be cold if you don't have to be!!

  7. We turned ours on Friday afternoon. It was in the low 20s at night this weekend. Plus our downstairs neighbor has been gone and left all his windows WIDE OPEN, therefore making it just a wee bit chilly!

  9. Gennas dress is beautiful! That is so awesome about the flash mob. I saw a video last week when the maid and matron of honor turned their speech into the rap song "yeah!"... Its hilarious! You should look it up.

  12. Yes!! It's been down to 30 in the mornings here in Tahoe! But still back up to low 70s during the day. Love the fall here! But boy is it chilly...sitting in my robe, slippers and the heater is running as we speak! ;)

  19. I turned my heat on a couple of times this weekend! :) AND this morning...if that makes you feel better. Brr it was cold! Though in a strange turn of events, I noticed Saturday that our backyard was suddenly full of mosquitoes. Wth?! I'm hoping it got cold enough last night to kill those suckers.

  20. How fun congrats to the new married couple :)

Sad to say, we had the air conditioner on for a little while yesterday, we are probably at LEAST a month away from needing heat. It's 75-85 during the day and about 55 at night. I wish it was cold I am sick of heat!!! :P

  21. What?! That is an awesome last night. Sometimes I think I might wait fifty years just to find a guy with a killer last name and then I'll finally agree to get married.

  29. I have my heat on too, although I'd trying to keep it in the low 60's to avoid the truth that it's really cold outside.

Also, I love those bridal party cups! How cute!
