The Sunshine State

YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT ME :)

We're back from vacation. Like all vacations, they must come to an end at some point but we really really really wanted to stay an extra week (I'd take an extra month too..). We spent the week traveling around Sarasota, Siesta Key, Bradenton, Longboat Key, and Anna Marie Island. Absolutely wonderful...every part of it. We ended up staying in an area called Lakewood Ranch at a hotel and we were about 1 mile down the road from where Billy's aunt and uncle have a house. In the beginning, we were planning on staying at their house but at the last moment his aunt and uncle, grandparents, and his other aunt booked a trip there because his aunt has cancer and they weren't sure of the next time they would be able to make it down there. It worked out very well because we didn't get in the way but we were still just a minute away from all of them and our hotel was sooo nice.

Most of our days were spent on the beach at Siesta Key and the ones that weren't we spent laying out at the pool. We loved every moment of it. My drink of choice for the week seemed to be Corona Light along with some wine and margaritas!! It only rained once for about an hour and it was late at night so it didn't interupt ANY of my precious time soaking up the sun. hehe.

Of course, we went out to eat every single night to some amazing restaurants {seafood-yumm!} and watched the sunsets. I took Billy out for his birthday to a nice restaurant on the water at Longboat Key and gave him his gifts..I got him a Tommy Bahama shirt and a Nautica shirt along with some money to get these rollerblades he has been wanting! :) Over the weekend, Billy's dad and 2 uncles surprised all the family and flew down for 2 days. We all celebrated Billy's grandpa's 80th birthday and really enjoyed spending the time with his aunt.

Our favorite part {besides just relaxing and enjoying the weather} had to be the sailboat crusie we went on. It was 2 hours long and is a family owned business from OHIO - they were just very sweet people and we had a blast. We sat up towards the front of the sailboat and got to see some ah-mazing million dollar homes on the ocean and spend time just the 2 of us.

We also did some shopping at St. Armands circle..if you have never heard of it, look it up. It's awesome. I treated myself to some Tory Burch flip flops :) and Billy bought me a silver  bracelet to match these turquoise earrings that I bought which was really sweet of him.

Now it's time to share some of our pictures. We took so many but here are some..ok a lot..of my favorites.

Happy birthday hubs

Out to dinner for Billy's 27th birthday

{I love how this one turned out..I actually didn't know I was getting our name in the background at the time!}

  1. Very nice looking holiday! I love your sand-kiss photo and wish I could get my hubby arranged in such a way to steal this idea. It was lovely looking at so many warm and beachy photos this morning, with the rain and miserable wind outside my window.
