QT in Cleveland

Hola amigas!

A lovely weekend has come and gone...what seems like way too quickly. I think we all enjoyed the extra hour of sleep, but I'm not so sure how I feel about it being dark by 6pm. On the bright side (literally), it is so much easier to wake up in the morning when it's light out. Cheers to not hitting the snooze button more than 3 times. Here's how we spent our weekend visiting family and friends in Cleveland.

Friday evening enjoying drinks & dinner at a local steakhouse with Billy's family
{can you guess which drink is mine?}

{Billy with his guy friends after their hunt on Saturday....Billy is 3rd from left}

While Billy was hunting Saturday, I prepared the chili for our friends chili cook off party then went shopping with Billy's sister. We got home and watched the OSU game {victory!} and shortly after both my boys were napping on the couch.

Saturday evening we got ready and went to our friends Cory and Jen's chili cookoff party. There were about 12 different chili's {I think} and they had a keg on tap. It was a wonderful party and since I couldn't eat many of the chili's that had meat in them, I opted for many many bowls of the chile con queso dip. Super yummy. :P Our vegetarian chili didn't take the win, but it was a big hit and Billy's family loved it. It was by far the best chili I've made to date! It was so flavorful and personally I think it was in the top 3 {the chili that won the cookoff had steak & pork in it} ;)

&

enjoyed multiple late night calls to & from Steph

All in all = a successful night.

Chili recipe to be posted soon..stay tuned!

What did you get into this weekend?
Billy is leaving later this week to go to Florida for a "man" trip with his Dad, uncles, brother, and cousins. I'm excited for him but I'm B to the UMMED that I won't be joining and will miss the man a lot.

In other exciting but random news...

A.) My parents house has sold! I knew this day would come eventually, but was really hoping to spend one last Christmas in it. I'm happy for them because it's been on the market for a long time and I know they are excited to start building their next home. They are planning on renting a house for the next year while the new house is being built. This means that they need to find a place to live within the next 2 weeks AND move all their stuff. Plus, it's my Dad's 60th birthday at the end of the month & we may have something special up our sleeve to celebrate...

aka
it's going to be one busy month!

B.) Knee update: I'm going to try and do a small workout tomorrow. My knee is making progress and I'm walking fine without the leg brace now. It still isn't 100%, but I'm hoping I can atleast get in something at the gym. I'm literally going crazy not being able to run or work out....I know I've mentioned this 50x, but it's true! Be thankful if you are injury free, that's all I've gotta say.

make it a great Monday everyone :)

  16. I hope your small workout goes well!! I've acquired a hip injury. Like, I haven't been able to run in a week and it's killing me. So I am also jealous of uninjured people.
