Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer

revlon one step hair dryer and volumizer

OH MY WORD!

Girls, have you heard of the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer? I am dedicating a whole post to this beauty (lol) because I have fallen in love and promised you all on instagram a review once I tried it.

This is what I've noticed/like about it when I compare it to other hair dryers:

-uses less heat (= less damage)
-my hair turns out much shinier
-cuts down the drying time (took me about 6-7 minutes to do my whole head)
-looks like you just left the salon!
-less frizz so I don't have to use a straightener as often/as much

It's really easy to use-I just separate my hair into sections first then blow dry each one. And I like that if you want more volume, you can just hold it under your hair close to the roots.

I can't say how well the item is made or how long it'll last since I just got it, but I think it's worth a shot since it's not too expensive and has other amazing reviews on Amazon.

Basically what I'm trying to say is: If you have $60 to spend, BUY IT. (+free shipping too!)

*PS, this is not sponsored in any way, just sharing my love for it!

5 Things I've Done To Get Healthier Hair

In high school and college, I did so much damage to my hair that it's kind of embarrassing to look back at pictures of it! It was so dry, over-colored, and no matter what I tried I could never get it to grow past a certain point. As of the past two years my hair has totally changed for the better and I've gotten a bunch of questions from friends + readers about what gave me the most improvement, or what I've done differently!

Here's how I made my hair healthy again and some of my must-have products...

1) CUT BACK ON WASHING & DRYING IT

Dry shampoo really is your BFF (my favorite is this one-less than $5) I try not to wash my hair more than twice per week. Typically my hair looks it's best on day 2, so if we're going out for date night or I know I'm heading to dinner with a girlfriend I will plan at the beginning of the week to wash it the night prior. Ever since I started cutting back on washing and drying my hair I noticed how much healthier the ends were and how much more it grew in length!

And if you can help it, set down the blow dryer and let your hair air dry.

2) USE A WET BRUSH

This brush is the only brush I ever use on my hair when it's wet OR dry. I can't express enough how much I love it - just buy it if you haven't tried it yet! Also, when I blow dry my hair I mainly just use my fingers.

3) TAKE PRENATAL VITAMINS OR BIOTIN

I have to give credit to these bad boys for strengthening my hair and getting it to grow several inches! It has so much more body and length to it, and my nails grow super quickly too.

4) DON'T COLOR IT SO MUCH!

I do get partial highlights every so often, but I really try to limit it.

5) USE COCONUT OIL FOR A DEEP-CONDITIONING HAIR TREATMENT

Typically I comb some through my hair (from about my ear to the ends) at night before I go to bed and wash it out in the morning. DO NOT use too much because I've found even after washing it that if I do my hair will be a little greasy.

FAV PRODUCTS: dry texturizing spray (seriously the BEST! I use when curling my hair for more volume) // paul mitchell hair straightener (heats up in like 60 seconds!) // T3 curling iron // moroccan oil // It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In (have used this for years and always buy more when it runs out!)

The Michelle Money Curl

Where are my Bachelor/Bachelorette fans?

I know you're out there!

If you are familiar with the shows, or with fashion, then you've probably heard of Michelle Money. She's got great style and hair...I can't decide which I like more. Anyway, with all the time I have at home now, I came across this and watched all 9 minutes of it {what else do I have to do?}. I really like the technique Michelle uses for curling her hair and how it's more of a messy curl than a tight curl. I will definitely be trying this next time I can stand on my leg without being in pain, OR, the next girlfriend I can convince to curl my hair for me.

She's pretty goofy in this video too

kinda like myself
so naturally I think she is pretty cool. :)

What do you think of Michelle's hair curling technique?
Will you be trying this?

The one, somewhat exciting thing, about being at home all day is waiting for the mail to come. Did I really just say that?! It's true. I guess I get excited now to check the mail. My amazing boot order that I've been stalking online should be here any day now, and the other day I received my West Elm tray that I won from Michaela.

I decided to use it for my jewelry that I wear on an everyday basis. It's nice to keep them all together right beside my bed so that I can find them quickly when in a rush.

{West Elm tray, MK watch, Lilly Pulitzer bangle, F21 chain link bracelets}

I'm off to dominate my MRI today.
hoping & praying for positive results :)

thank you all so so so much for your kind thoughts yesterday
you guys are the best!

happy tuesday lovelies!

Shake Your Tailfeather {Misc. Monday}

I'm so thankful for this past weekend.
Billy was out of town for a bachelor party and as I missed him, the time to myself was wonderful. I got to experiment with new recipes and get stuff done around the house that I had been putting off, and I also did a project I found on Pinterest.

Super productive I'd say!

I'm linking up for Misc. Monday to share all my weekend randoms with ya'll.
I do think this is my 1st time linking up so cheers to that..

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. I got feather hair extensions in my hair. I had been wanting some for a long time, and am so glad I got them! I just love them, and now I want to get even more.

I got a yellow grizzly, natural grizzly, and a brown solid.

What do you think?

I'm inspired by Jennifer Love Hewitt's feather extensions and am really wanting to add some more colors...

Do you like the new feather trend?!

2. The Irish Festival is still one of my favorite weekends of the year. Next year I would like to go during the day so I can see more of the shops and listen to more of the bands, but this year was fun. I went with 2 of my closest girlfriends that I've been friends with since high school and we had a blast. I forced my g/f Angela to sneak up close to the stage with me under the tent to see my favorite bands perform for a few songs.

Here are some pictures of the night...

3. I love my husband.

I got home from work on Friday and found these sitting on our kitchen table. Even though he was going out of town, he stopped and got these for me before he left. So sweet.

I love them.
What girl doesn't?!

4. I made this yummy yummy yummy recipe I found on Pinterest.

{click the name for the link to the recipe}

They were soo good and I can't wait to make them for Billy!

5. I seriously love me some Trader Joes. I went and spent a bunch of moo-lah on cheeses, spreads, salsas, veggie kabobs, lentils, etc. and was like a kid in a candy store. Everytime I go in there I feel like I could stay for hours {yes, I feel the same about Whole Foods too.}

Who has tried this amazing salsa?

6. My love for Ryan Gosling hasn't stopped at The Notebook. Lindsay and I had a girl date Saturday night and we went to see the movie Crazy, Stupid Love. Such a cute movie...and some serious eye candy. GO SEE IT, LADIES.

SO SO SO CUTE.
I mean, not that good looking.

7. Fall fashion has sucked me in yet again. Every year when the stores first put out their fall clothes, I tell myself: "Do not do it, yet. Wait a bit" and......I always fail. I went and bought 3 shirts this weekend that I won't be able to wear for atleast a month or two, but on the bright side..they were amazing deals. So it was sort of like I had to. Right?

I did get this cute outfit though that I can't wait to wear....

Soft Satin Shirt
in Silver

with....
 this black lace skirt..

That's all I've got today for Misc. Monday!

Tomorrow I have something exciting to share :-)

What did you do this weekend?! Did you have a productive, laid back kinda weekend like myself? or what fun did you get into? Share with me!

xo.
