This Weekend I....

Andddd we're back!

Monday, Monday-why you gotta come so fast?

The good news is I actually used my camera (you know, not the iphone kind) this weekend and took entirely way too many pictures. The bad news (or the second good news) is that today you get to look at them, instead of hearing me ramble on and on. Because who really wants to listen to me this early in the morning?

Here we go, this weekend I...

-drove to the cottage with Billy and Rocky (and took shameless selfies on the ride that might have been wine induced)

 {necklace is old, but from Charming Charlie's}

-went to Mon Ami Restaurant and Winery for dinner and drinks on Friday night

It was so hot and humid out, but we still decided to sit outside for dinner and they had a live band playing most of the time while we were there and they were really good!

(don't worry-I didn't eat this whole thing by myself. Billy helped with half, but it was so good I probably could have...)

-took the jet ski out even when the lake had 4 foot waves

Hey, go big or go home, right? I could only get up to 30 mph before almost flying off into the water, but it was so fun to ride the waves! What girl doesn't enjoy an engine between her legs and being out on the water? It's the truth... #watergirl

-went to Put in Bay for Christmas in July!

Billy's cousin had his boat docked there and had some friends with their boats as well, so we hung out on them for a while before heading to dinner and to get drinks at the bars!

 {dress is from here}

-took the boat out for most of Sunday morning and afternoon, relaxed, and soaked up the sun....

{this is the clubhouse/pool area where the cottage is}

-celebrated national ice cream day with a huge bowl of ice cream approximately 20 minutes after I said I was done eating badly for a really long time (naturally...)

Sounds about right.

What did you do this weekend?

Link up with miss Sami to share with us!

Hey You, I've Got Some Letters....

Dear lake/Put in Bay/cottage, we are heading your way tonight for the weekend. It's the biggest "party" weekend of the year at Put In Bay because it's Christmas in July and all the island businesses decorate for the holiday. Live music? Check. Everyone in Santa hats and Christmas decorations everywhere? Check. Boating? Check. We are actually heading to a winery tonight and I'm so excited! All the makings for a perfect summer weekend.

Dear Ohio weather, you have been HOT HOT HOT this week. My car said 97 when I got in it last night....at 7pm. While it may sound like I'm complaining, I've actually come to realize these past couple years how much I prefer hot weather vs. extreme cold weather. My bones can't take the cold anymore. They just can't. With that being said...

Dear people counting down to football season, as much as I love it (hello Ohio State Buckeyes-only the best of the best) I'M NOT READY YET! Why oh why are we starting a countdown so early? Summer just started I thought?! Let's give summer some time to shine (literally), pretty please?

Okay, Okay, fine....I'm a LITTLE excited... (Me and Billy's cousin Greg)

Dear month of August, every single weekend is completely booked. 3 weekends out of town, 1 in town, and 1 big 3 year anniversary (THREE years-where in the world has the time gone?). I have a feeling you are going to fly right by about as fast as I can try to soak you up.... PS: Does anyone have any good 3 year anniversary gift ideas?

Dear McD's sugar free vanilla iced coffee, you make my Friday mornings much more enjoyable.

Dear Billy and Rocky, you guys are too cute for your own good.

Dear Katie, get yourself a haircut next week, would ya? You need it.

Dear The Challenge (on MTV), why am I still watching you so many years later? But can we not get into how many years it's actually been because I'm trying to block that out of my head.

CT has absolutely nothing to do with why I'm still watching.

Dear Texas, I miss you. There - I said it.

Dear Katie (part two), stop eating handfuls of skittles every dang day. You were doing so well. Just say NO.

Dear readers, thank you for being so awesome - make sure you enter my Rad Market giveaway to win yourself some fabulous jewelry and have yourself an amazing weekend!

I'm expecting some good insta videos + pics on the horizon this weekend, so follow me @katiewkrysh if you're into that kind of thing. :)

Beauty: The Dream Team {Skin Care}

Whenever I think of the dream team, this song comes to mind:

Whoomp There It Is by Tag Team on Grooveshark

Chak a laka chack a laka chak a laka chak a. Don't ask me why because really I have no clue why. It just does. You have songs like this, yes? Except today, I'm talking about this dream team, something that makes a little bit more sense...

Untitled #20

I've come to a conclusion. G-O-N-E are the days where I could wash my face just once a day, wear only bronzer to feel "covered" enough, and only worry about a pimple here or there every now and again. Yep, gone. Completely vanished. What happened to my low maintence, no acne skin? I WANT IT BACK! Thank you, sweet aging process. You're incredibly kind to me.

Nowadays, it takes much more work, and let's face it-research, to keep my skin clear and looking healthy. When doing my studies (er, stalking on beauty channels/youtube/etc) I came across the Avene line and everyone was raving about it. They were right...nothing else has worked for me quite like these products. I was getting so frustrated until I turned to these babies! They have cleared up my face and do a great job of keeping it under control (phew-SOMEONE needs to).

If you have blemish or acne prone skin, definitely give these products a try. I mean it. No one paid me to spit these lines, I just love these products and wanted to share in case any of you have the same problems. Then hopefully you will come rave about them to me later?

Avene Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser 6.76 fl oz.: Use as my normal face wash, gel cleanser gently purifies the skin. My little lifesaver in a bottle! Use both morning and night.

Cleanance K Cream-Gel 40ml/1.44oz: Combats acne breakouts and restores skins balance, targets clogged pores and blackheads. Apply to cleansed face and neck at night.

Redness Relief Soothing Cream SPF 25 - Avene - Day Care - 40ml/1.35oz: You can use this to help with any redness and also in the morning before you put your make up on since it has SPF 25.

*When/if you shop these products online (or doing any shopping online)-make sure you are using your EBATES! I've earned so much money back on purchases that I make sure I never shop without going through ebates first. All of it adds up, trust me! If you haven't signed up, get a $10 gift card here when you sign up for free.

Ebates Coupons and Cash Back

Wam. Bam.

Dream Team Over and Out.

PS: These products are all backed by my bff Steph as well, and actually she told me about product numero tres. We have been using the same face products for a long time and never realized it until my recent trip to Texas #bffproblems. So take this as a two-for-one "use these products" from the both of us!

Recipe: Easy Greek Tortellini Salad

Just popping in to share an easy weeknight dinner (or perfect side dish for a party) recipe that I made last week!

This is 110% husband approved. I need to put that out there first. Normally, you won't find me eating pasta, just because I'm not that big of a fan (please don't kill me), but that also means you won't find me cooking it in our house. Insert husband tears. I told Billy when I got back from Texas that I would eat pasta on a weeknight, so here I am, living up to my pasta promise. Men are so funny with food, aren't they? Don't even get me started on the fact that he went to our local bulk grocery store last week (sans list from myself) and bought HALF of the store. And I bet you can take a pretty good guess at where half the items came from...I can tell you right now it was NOT the produce section.

Moving on, we both really liked this dish. I like that it's different by using cheese tortellini...who hates cheese tortellini these days? Serve it up with your two favorite sides to make it a meal (we had watermelon and my favorite-corn on the cob)

It's filling, easy to throw together, and light/refreshing for summertime!

Easy Greek Tortellini Salad
-recipe adapted from two peas and their pod: I left out the olives and also added a little bit of light italian dressing.

Ingredients:

+1 20 ounce package refrigerated cheese tortellini (use whole wheat if you want!)
+1 1/2 cups grape tomatoes, cut in half
+1 large cucumber, chopped
+1 cup kalamata olives, pit removed and chopped
+1/2 red onion, chopped (only had white so I just used that and it was fine)
+3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

For the Dressing:
+1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
+3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
+1 clove garlic, minced
+1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
+Salt and pepper, to taste
+2 tablespoons light Italian dressing (optional)

Directions:

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the tortellini according to the package directions. Drain the tortellini and rinse with cold water.
2. Place the tortellini in a large bowl. Add the tomatoes, cucumber, olives, red onion, and feta cheese.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the salad and stir until salad is well coated. Serve immediately or place in the refrigerator.

Once you're finished devouring, you can store this salad in the fridge for up to 3 days. Cheers to that...

Hello leftovers! Hello lunch the next day! So many options here.

Are you a fan of Greek Salads?

ENJOY!
(that is if you try it-which I definitely think you should...)
