CURRENTLY...

(from my snapchat: katiewkrysh)

Reading: I can't tell you how long it has been since I read a book, but this weekend I picked up After You because of how much I loved Me Before You. I'm on chapter 5 already and really enjoying it (the book and the extra quiet time.)

Wishing: that the current colds and sickness going through our house would GO AWAY. Both boys have been sick for over a week and it has been pretty rough having two sick kids (especially since Gray is so young!) at the same time. Camden had a stomach bug and is teething really bad (fun combo) and Grayson is up coughing a lot in the middle of night. Sleep has been minimal to say the least...hoping and praying this week they both feel better!

Happening: We decided to transition Grayson from the rock and play to his crib over the weekend. I wanted to do the transition earlier than we did with Camden, and I also felt like he would nap/sleep better in his own space. Turns out, he is actually sleeping better in his own room like I thought! I do miss having him right next to me though, kinda makes me feel like he's getting too big too fast!

Loving: The low-key weekend was pretty much everything. The only real plans we had was a friends son birthday party (happy birthday Macklin!) yesterday at a park nearby. We didn't stay very long because it was chilly and breezy and the last thing I want are the kids getting more sick, but Cam had so much fun and it was good to hang out with some friends!

Looking Forward To: Halloween with both kids! I just got the kids costumes in the mail last week and am so excited to see them dressed up. Billy and I plan to dress up too...if we can find what we need!

oh, and of course I'm excited because Texas is only 1 month away!

Thinking: Sometimes I will look at the boys and be like, "OMG-I really do have 2 babies under 2 years old" like it hasn't sunk in yet or something. ha! It always reminds me to slow down and take a breather from time to time, because time moves so quickly.

I mean, look at this boy...he's getting so big. Love those pretty eyes!

Over The Knee Boots

over the knee boots

I wish I would've gotten a pair of over the knee boots last year. They make a statement and can make an outfit look effortless! There are so many cute options out there that I had a hard time picking ones to feature today. If you haven't tried this trend yet, it's time to step up your shoe game!

Here are my favorite picks (from left to right):

BP Tessie Tall Boot

Merona Tarin Over The Knee Suede Boot

Would really love it if all of these showed up in my closet. Who's with me? Happy hump day!

Grayson: 2 Months Old

(Believe it or not I did have this done on the 27th, when he actually turned 2 months, but wanted to wait until after his doctors appointment so that I had his height and weight!)

It's hard to believe it's been 2 months since this little guy was born. I couldn't complain about Grayson if I really tried. He is honestly a dream baby, and is much easier than Camden was at this age. He is so calm and relaxed most of the time. One of my favorite things at this age is watching him stretch after he wakes up...his adorable facial expressions/yawns and his little arms over his head. It's something I miss so much as they get older. He's just so snuggly right now! I love that he goes to bed later than Camden because it gives me more time to just love on him and only him. Sometimes I feel guilty about him not getting as much as attention as Camden did when he was a baby. Speaking of big brother, this past month we've seen his love and interest for Grayson really grow. Cam is constantly coming over to lay by him, rubbing his head, giving him hugs, and is always asking where he is. We can tell how much he loves him and it's the sweetest thing ever. I feel so blessed to raise brothers!

Weight: 12 lbs

Height: 22.5
Hair: Brown

Eyes: Blue

Clothes: 0-3 months and 3 months

Diapers: Using up the last of our 1's box then he will be in 2's!

Sleeping: Bedtime is normally around 8 and he sleeps until 4/430. Goes right back to bed after that until 7ish! We are currently trying to transition him out of the swaddle by doing one arm out and then hopefully in a few days to both arms out. He normally has one good long nap in the afternoon, and the other ones he tends to catnap for about 45 minutes for those.

Likes: Us talking to him, smiling, the bouncy seat, sticking his little tongue out (does this all the time!), being held, his paci, bath time

Dislikes: The normal culprits - gas and wanting to eat!

Eating: 4 oz every 3 hours, 4.5 oz at bedtime bottle

Milestones: He is cooing all the time now - we love hearing the start of his little voice! He does great holding his head up during tummy time. I think he will like sleeping on his stomach like Camden once he gets a little older! He loves when we talk to him and he will look for me in the room when he hears me. Melts my damn heart. When he's awake, he's most likely smiling or looking around for his brother. Also, everyone thinks him and Cam look like twins nowadays. While they do look so much alike, Grayson is SO much chunkier. Cam never had chubby cheeks or rolls and Grayson's got that covered!

We love him so, so much and I want him to stay this little forever.

5 Things I'm Doing To Lose The Baby Weight

Now that Grayson is 2 months old, it's officially "go time" for me to lose the last of this baby weight. Recovering from childbirth isn't easy, but what's even harder is getting rid of the excess belly fat. You have to essentially start all over and wake up those abdominal muscles again!

Here are 5 things I'm doing to try to get back to my prepregnancy bod:

1) NO SNACKING OR EATING AFTER 9PM.

This is harder than it seems when you have two kiddos because sometimes dinner is late after they are already in bed. Typically once they're in bed and I'm relaxing, I'll have the urge to want to eat something sweet or snack on a bunch of crackers but sticking to this is important. I need to be snacking smarter, which means not eating empty-calorie foods like Camden's goldfish on the daily, especially at night.

2) INCREASE MY WATER INTAKE.

During pregnancy it's essential to increase your water intake, but it's much harder to keep it up after you have the baby. When you have young little ones at home to take care of, you tend to put yourself last. Some days I'll look at the clock and it'll be noon and I'll realize I've only had one glass of water so far (and sometimes I will forget to eat lunch completely -- no more of this!)

3) WORKOUT DURING KIDS NAP TIME OR BEDTIME.

This is the perfect time to get in a workout, even if it's so tempting to get other things done at this time. I've been making it a priority to get on the treadmill if they're both asleep at the same time, or to go for a run outside once Billy is home from work and Camden is in bed. Even if it's only for 20 minutes - it counts and I feel so much better after I do it.

4) CUT DOWN ON THE STARBUCKS.

...and any other fancy drinks that are packed with sugar. I say cut down because I don't want to give up my Starbucks completely (hello -- this mama needs a caffeine boost here and there!), but I can't be drinking them as often as I've been getting them lately. I want to aim for just 2 times per week.

5) FOCUS ON MY CORE.

After having a baby, you have to completely build back your core. It's the area I need to work on the most, so focusing on and committing to core exercises (like side planks, dumbbell side bends, russian twists, leg raises, flutter kicks, etc.) is going to be the most beneficial and give me the best results.

Not on the list but I think is equally as important is taking time for myself and getting enough sleep!

What did you do to get back to your prepregnancy weight? Share with me what worked best for you! And of course, wish me luck! :)
