Vacation Hangover

My current state is what I like to call a vacation hangover...it's that period of time when you get back home from vacation but aren't exactly 100% ready to tackle real life yet. Bills? Eh. Laundry? It can wait. Work? Do I have to? All that good stuff you try to put off as long as possible. On the bright side, it's much better than the position we were in before we left for vacation  (#stomachvirusfromhell), so I'll suck it up and appreciate the fact that we had an amazing vacation.

Until I can get my motivation back, I just wanted to pop in and say we're back and I can't wait to share about our trip! Taking Cam to Disney World for one day was 190% worth it. Exhausting, but worth it. I'm so glad we did it. The rest of our trip was just as good - relaxing at the beach and swimming in the pool with the sunshine beaming down. You can't get much better than that!

I'll probably have a recap/the pics posted on Monday. Tonight we are actually going to the Garth Brooks concert (he has been my favorite ever since I first started listening to country music! I'm so stoked!) and Billy's family is coming to visit us on Saturday. AKA...I have a feeling this vacation hangover might not end until Sunday afternoon/early evening. Typical.

Have a good weekend everyone!

FL Bound

Happy Friday!

I could NOT be happier to be at the end of this week!! As you know from my last post this week was really rough for us, so I'm not sad at all to see it go. Today, I really just wanted to say thank you to everyone who reads my blog for bearing with me during the times my blog has had to take a backseat to taking care of my family, much needed vacations, and just other conflicts going on in life. When I don't get a post up or have an "off" week I tend to sometimes stress about it, but it's comforting to read messages from all of you and to know that you understand and get it.

We'll be off to Florida soon so if you'd like you can follow our adventures (Disney will be first!) on my instagram or snapchat (katiewkrysh for both.)

Three Things You Must Know

1// We're alive. We're alive and on the MEND!

You might be wondering what I'm talking about. Well, on Friday our household was lucky enough to get hit with the worst stomach virus I have ever experienced. Camden got sick first and it wasn't until Sunday evening that I got it, too. Even though I was more than miserable (I honestly can't describe how awful it was-I have never been this sick in my entire life and lost 3 lbs from it all), I would rather be sick than see Cam sick like he was. He didn't know what was happening and it was so sad. The sickness he had a few weeks prior was literally nothing compared to this. Billy was the last to get it on Monday night, and at that point I just wanted to scream "you won, virus! you fricken won! Now leave us alone!"

Terrrribleeeee. Today is the most normal we've felt, but still not quite at 100% yet. I'm hoping tomorrow we will feel completely back to normal after another good night of sleep! Please...please go sanitize your house right this very instant because trust me, you don't want this. Do it.

{lots of cuddles for our sick boy-both of these were before we both got sick}

2// If this had to happen, I'm really happy it started LAST weekend and not THIS weekend because our trip to Disney & Naples would've been for sure cancelled! Trying to look on the bright side here!

To say we are anticipating this trip even more after the past four days is a gigantic understatement. This vacation is SOO needed! {the forecast is showing 90 degrees for Naples which means I might not ever come inside for the duration of our trip...give me all the warmth and sun! all of it!}

The last time we brought came to the beach was when he was 6 months old, so I'm even more excited now that he can walk around! He's going to love it!

3// I shared a sneak peek of baby brothers nursery on Snapchat (katiewkrysh) last night, so I figured it wouldn't be fair of me to not share on here as well...

I know it's not a lot to go off of, but I wanted to show something without showing too much. What do you think so far? I'm really loving all of it, especially now that the rug came in that ties everything together. We're so close to being done...we just need to pick up the bedding and hang some things on the walls!

Before the stomach virus hit him, Billy was able to build shelves for his room that I had my heart set on (thanks to a tutorial I found on Pinterest), and got them finished! All that is left to do is hang them. I will definitely be sharing a full nursery post with pictures and where everything is from soon!

PS: Camden just turned 15 months old over the weekend! Absolutely nuts! Definitely doing an update on this soon.

Sorry for the short post today...it's hard to get back into the swing of blogging since I'm still recovering & trying to get my life (and house) back in order! Thank you for hanging in there with me, and those who left supportive comments on my instagram! xo :)

Loving Lately

Untitled #84

Happy Friyay!

 I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend ahead! We are going to have a pretty low-key weekend...a good brunch + some relaxing and working in the nursery is hopefully in my future! We went and saw London Has Fallen last night - I really liked it but I'm not sure if it was because of the large bucket of buttery popcorn (that I have been seriously craving for weeks now) or Gerard Butler being in nearly every scene that made it that much better for me.

Anyway, here are a few of my favorite recent purchases / finds and why I love them. They are all very spring/summer appropriate!

Soludos Espadrilles: how adorable are these? there's not much not to like! bonus points for being super comfy (order a size up-they run small) and easy to wear in the spring/summer.
Floral Print Lounge Shorts: these shorts speak my love language. the colors are perfect and they fit my growing midsection (they aren't maternity though)
Glam Glow Deep Cleansing Set (only $39): I recently came across this value set - I think it's great for those who haven't tried the Glam Glow products, but want to before investing in the full size. Traveling soon? Easy to take with you!
Kiel's Deep Pore Cleansing Mask: Kiel's is always a top rated brand skin care, but really affordable. You get so much out of this container! My pores can get pretty bad so I love this mask.
Swell Stainless Steel Water Bottle Swell bottles are all the rage recently! Love that it's stainless steel and this champagne color is right up my alley.
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment: this does NOT leave my bag-it is so moisturizing but has a tint of color. My favorite thing to put on my lips recently by far! (I have the petal shade)
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue: I haven't tried this yet, but it's on my list for next time as I keep hearing great reviews. It's a BB cream, a CC cream and a tinted moisturizer all in one. Perfect for summer!
Splendid Pajamas: You can never have enough soft, cute pajamas...big fan of the matching set and shorts for the warmer temps.

Have a good weekend!!
